I don't think Oda is that crazy to let Luffy solo a Yonko by himself rn. This is definitely a setup to end act 3 with a tragedy, Kaido is gna beat him to within an inch of his life in the very next chapter.

Luffy's protagonism is the same level as Natsu from fairy tail.

luffy being brutalized and always raised to beat Kaido, his recovery is better than the awakened Zoans, and he gets up getting stronger, SSJ style.

Honestly, Oda is nerfing the fuck out of Luffy from my point of view.... When it comes to enemies, Oda gives them abilities BEYOND BELIEFS with ZEROOO drawbacks... I have yet to see a single opponent Luffy faced with HAX abilities that showed ANY drawback for their strongest technqiues...

Luffy on the other hand, ANY FREAKING power boost has to hav drawbacks to fucking give a chance for the opponent not to be demolished completely....

EVEN after the Haki training he got, Oda STILLLLL doesn't want to get rid of the 10 min haki break from gear 4th... like WTF dude... If not now then WHEN?

The mechanics are better for one

The whole, “I can eat the magic crystals that are not even fire but whatever, i need a power up and who cares” is CERTAINLY not comparable to what is happening right now with Luffy.

For example, Mr Morj predicted that this fight will be settled by Advanced CoC And NOT advanced COA about 30 chapters ago. He made this prediction at the same time as everything in the story was directly emphasizing COA.

The reasons he gave for this prediction were themes. Thats it. He simply said the themes of Wano do not support COA being the end all be all of this confrontation. The mere fact that underlying themes can acurately foreshadow this outcome even though Oda has spent 70 chapters directly telling is that COA is what we need is MILES above anything In Fairy tail.

So you can in fact plot out similarities in the general structure of the fights, but the Actual details in mechanics and execution are VASTLY different.

In fact, if you take the context and how a dragon's body works in Fairy Tail, it becomes more coherent, the ethernano crystals also had the element of fire in them, and the dragon's stomach is different from humans, Natsu can ingest and assimilate several things, like Luxus' thunder or Zancrow's black fire., he assimilated Etherno because of his dragon fisiology.

It is even better that Luffy ,he fall a thousand times, get up and learn something advanced in the middle of the battle, which is basic shounen. To be comparable, Natsu would have to learn Dragon Force molds ... being that his DF was situational and explained.

but make no mistake, i am not defending, i find both bad. But you defending this shit from Luffy is urreal, this is really bad. If you think it's less bad or not, compared to other protagonists, it's up to you. But I'm finding this ridiculous.
