Katakuri is easily Oda's best creation post timeskip. All the way from FI to the Reverie that was a rough stretch.
Thankfully he was there so we could ignore "Nicest guy" Sanji's fake drama and Big Mom's annoyingly convenient tantrums. Y'all need to be grateful to that man for salvaging an atrocious arc.
But thing is Deku's trash ass wasnt even born with them powers.
He was born to be fodder and shouldve stayed that way. He didnt work hard to find a way to be strong even when he was weak. He instead was handed everything on a silver platter and was trained hard.
To be fair, he had to literally risk his life and almost get killed to impress All Might.
He did train his mind what with ability on quirk analysis and forming strategies on the fly. As for physical training before All Might then yeah, he did not do much in regards to that. Lol.
Deku would only have been good if he was a badass Batman like character. Using gadgets and utilities. Training in hand to hand combat. And finding peoples weaknesses. Instead hes just another cliche wreck it ralph anime MC.
To be fairly honest, I myself probably would have found MHA more interesting if that angle was taken. It would have been like a Shonen version of Drifters. Lol.
We have this big spiel on how shite life as a quirkless is, how a 1/5 of the population are heavily discriminated against, how the MC experienced all this and now that 20% are not even mentioned anymore....... ok. Lol. I guess these poor fecks remain forgotten and abused then.
I hope we get a major quirkless villain in the future as a sort of foil to what Izuku could have become due to a discriminatory society.
Bro if anyone was offered OFA you know damn well that beach gonna get cleared in a heartbeat. Id twerk and dance on poles for that shit ngl.
So Deku's fodder ass is no different to anyone who wouldve been in his lucky situation. He doesnt deserve it.
Deserving it would be finding out how OFA is passed around. Stealing All Might's DNa from him and gulping that shit down. Now thats respectable, highly unethical....but very damn impressive.
Lmao so you’re saying proving yourself to be worthy of something discredits you cause it’s not unique? Somehow that’s less worthy then being born lucky? Shit logic. You’d do a lot awful things for a million dollars but Just because others are equally willing doesn’t make them any less deserving.
You can only have OFA with consensual swapping of DNA. Intent matters.

If you’re interested in a quirk less badass — Illegals MHA Vigilantes — a spin-off series set 5 years before the current time line focuses on vigilantes. One of them, Knuckle duster, is quirkless. It’s a nice little series that balances world building and humor. Not as high stakes as MHA.

We sort of already gotten that though? Quirklessness and those with poor quirks fit into similar categories and we’ve seen someone whose dream to be a hero turned down a dark road. The Gentlemanly criminal himself.

He didn't throw the fight; he equalized the damage which was caused against Luffy by Mogura cause his annoying sister intercepted a 1vs1 battle. She's a bitch, not Katakuri who didn't want to win the fight like that.
Heck, Katakuri would be a bitch if he just continued the fight without carrying at all that his sister was playing dirty.

Im not saying it discredits you....but why praise something that anyone can do ? Being born with a specific quirk makes you unique. Their is no denying it. However their is nothing unique about Deku. He was just at the right place at the right time. Anyone couldve been in hos situation right now. Proving himself by breaking bones ??? Any human can break bones ???

Honestly, without him the WCI arc would be an utter mess enduring the Trashmokes and Big Meme. People should be grateful that we've got Katakuri as Luffy's opponent!

Not everyone is willing to put that much effort in especially when born at a disadvantage. Deku put the work in the earn the quirk, showed the heroics before having a quirk to be worthy of it, and has struggled to master it. It’s his power.
@TheAncientCenturion the difference between a millionaire and Deku the useless. Is that millionaire genrally think of an idea themselves. And get rich from it. Nothing is generally handed down to them like OFA was for Deku.

Sure. People who dont want to be heros obviously dont. But your acting as if Deku was the only quirkless hero wannabe in the world. Trying hard doesnt prove anything when your already given an oppturnity that others dont get. Deku is trash end of.
Deku legit cleaned up literal tons of garbage during his summer break, regularly broke bones and suffered injuries to try and master OFA. Saying it’s not his power at this point is BS, he earned it.

Gentle does not represent either quirkless people or people with weak quirks. Lol. Gentle was a well meaning individual but was far too incompetent and unacademic to become a hero. He failed not because he did not have an opportunity but because he himself was not able to seize that opportunity.
Gentle’s tale is that of a man that fears that he will one day be completely forgotten by all. That is it. Nothing to do with the quirkless or weak quirked.

So we agree Deku put in the work to earn it and is mastering it, getting no real special benefits with his quirk aside from obtaining it? All Might choosing Deku is legit no different than genetics deciding it. Except he had to prove himself to all Might, an extra step.
