Chapter Discussion Do Law & Kidd defeat Big Mom here?

You see it happening? Should be a great battle where we can really see Kidd and Law go all out even more-so than they did on the roof.

Kaido is the final boss of this arc so I don't see him going down until the end of next year and BM already had her arc, so I think it would make sense for Kidd/Law to defeat BM, but only with the battle playing out as Kidd and Law coming close to death to do it, to the point where they are out of commission until the final battle with Kaido. There will have to be some finessing as far as plot armor, etc for it to happen but I think she needs to be taken out of the story after this.

I mean if BM doesn't go down here, then that would mean she gets another arc or interferes with panel time that should be focused on Blackbeard, Shanks, and the Admirals in the future.

How do you see it playing out?

I think there will be 3 rounds. I think the final round is Kidd and luffy vs big mom and kaido. Which will be round 3. so basically Kidd and law vs big mom round 1.

Didn't CP0 say something like it would be an upset if two Yonko fell here? Anyhow, I want to see Gamma Knife actually tried on a human, and not wasted on a dragon so Luffy can get the glory. All of Countershock, Injection Shot, etc... worked well and GK is way stronger.

Yes. I don't expect Kidd and Law beating Big Mom right now because it's too early. I think they will take down Big Mom along with Marco's help in Act 4.

This fight is too early for me to make any hardline predictions on how I expect it to play out. But I expect Big Mom to go down and I expect Kidd to get most of the credit.

luffy won’t be able to fight another yonko after he fights kaido.

I think round 2 will be three captains round 3 will be Kidd and luffy.

Luffy can fight big mom also at round 2 and 3

anyways.
I see 2 senarios happening:

1- the arc continues like every other arc with Kidd and law stalling fake big mom then se randomly will become O-Lin permanently

2- she will be like the new kuma where kaido will be the new Moria.
Yonko level Luffy start fight with her in act 5 or at the end of arc but randomly she becomes O-lin

In either cases she’s joining the grand fleet.

Will Big Mom go down by the end of this arc to them? Yes. In this “round“? No. I still believe the final battle will Luffy and Kidd vs Kaido and Big Mom in a 2 v 2. I think it’s intentional that we’ve seen Luffy and Law tag team, Kidd and Law tag team, but no Luffy and Kidd tag team yet. I believe that is being saved for the end.

For now, Kidd and Law will put up a good fight, do some impressive things, but ultimately not be able to beat her just yet. This should be a fight where Kidd learns how to do significant damage to yonko for the later round.

Plus I believe Kidd and Law will be receiving more help from Killer, Apoo, and Hawkins at some point. I think it’s being set up to be Strawhats vs Kaido and his crew led by Luffy, while on the other hand it’s Supernovas vs Big Mom and her crew led by Kidd.

Then when the yonko are weakened by each group enough, Luffy and Kidd, the leaders of each group, come together to tag team them.

I went for a long time on this and came to the conclusion several times that it's improbable that Luffy won't play a central main role in her departure, since it holds a decade portrayal. However had that happened, she might even fall rather quickly.

Not unless they have at least 1 more YC level fighter joining them.

With how everyone is predicting Zoro vs King to take place before Zoro rejoins Luffy to take down Kaido, I kinda wish that Marco would help out Law and Kidd if he is not going to duel King.

Another possibility is Luffy rejoining Kidd and Law to take down Big Mom before eventually rejoining Zoro to vanquish Kaido for good.
