General & Others What is your own expected list of arc after Wano

#21
Basically what the title says. Elbaf arc ? Lode star arc ? Return to Impel Down Arc ( to save Sabo ) ?

What would be your own list of arc remaining after Wano

An arc with a place name or something like ' return to Impel down ' if Sabo is really captured and Luffy is having another Magellan face off
Elbaf number 1
Lodestar
Baltigo

Imo Oda is setting up a Marijoa arc where we will see old characters coming back but also new ones everybody is waiting to see.
First of all the marines have captured Sabo but also Vivi, that means Luffy has to do something, and this also will most likely lead to Dragon who must do something at this point. So we already have Sabo and Vivi re enter the story but also Dragon who needs to enter the story after decades from his introduction as a character in Logue town. Then there is also Coby capturing(?) Boa Hancock and this introduces other 2 potential charactere for the arc. Then of course there is Kuma too, Bonney who is linked both to Kuma and the WG. Then on the enemy side we have a lot of potential as well: Greenbull who needs too to enter the story, then Coby as something playing in the middle, but there could also be other admirals, introduction of Vegapunk, maybe a small role for IM or bigger for the gorosei, Lucci could act too. And as you can see there is already a lot of stuff.

The main reasons are that Sabo and Vivi need to be saved asap, Luffy can't spend weeks or more playing pirate with the guys captured, Sabo probably will have to be executed like Ace, and that will be some sort of moral revenge for what happened with Ace. Luffy will manage to save Sabo and maybe Sabo could beat Akainu to atone for his absence when Ace was executed. Also if now Luffy and his wings are dealing with a yonko and YCs the next step for Zoro and Sanji are admirals. Don't know what Luffy could face that is stronger or at least on par with Kaido.

Against an Elbaf arc I think that there is still not enough build up for it, I mean for sure there will be in the future an Elbaf arc for sure with Loki, the old giant, maybe Dori and Broggi or other giants fron earlier in the serie etc. But nothing says it has to be right after Wano (even more when Sabo and Vivi need to be saved now). Also an an Elbaf arc means 99% there will be BM as well and the character is already redundant with 2 arcs in a row.

My whole issue is...is Marijeois necessary to be defeated before reaching Laugh Tale or not

Going there to save Sabo and co doesn't mean destroy the marines. Oda could do something like WCI. Luffy goes there and defeats some strong guys (Kata and Cracker in WCI, an admiral or 2, or maybe even the SSG weapin which replaced the shikis now rhat I think about it) while the boss stays undefeated (BM - IM and maybe the gorosei too), Luffy saves his friend/s (Sanji - Sabo and Vivi) and escapes. That was also the objective of Marineford war btw.

Also now that the story is coming closer to the end (I don't know how many arcs are left but if they are all big ones like Wano/Dressrosa/WCI they should be at best 3 or 4, maybe 5..) maybe Oda needs to to tie some dots (or at least reveal more) about void century, D, One piece etc. And Marijoa for sure is a foundamental place for that.

Elbaf, Laugh Tale, Final War.

The only sort of unexpected arc I can see coming up is Sphinx before or after Elbaf, which could allow Luffy to say goodbye to Ace before he becomes Pirate King, deal with Weevil and provide some insight into Rocks. Don’t think they will go to Lodestar, Elbaf can push together a load of plotpoints (Shanks, the Grand Fleet, Vegapunk) and Laugh Tale and the final war will really be part one and part two of the final arc.

It’s blatant in the New World that Oda’s cut down on spreading out plotpoints and arcs over different islands like he did with Alabasta. Punk Hazard was once going to be two arcs, Dressrosa was going to be a Green Bit arc and then a Dressrosa arc, Totland could really have been spread out over more islands than we saw, Wano and Onigashima being the one arc... he’s more likely to cram in someone or somewhere into a planned arc than make a new one.

We need to have the Vegapunk arc next. We’ve been hearing about forever, it’s time to stop withholding info Oda. WHAT DO YOU KNOW YOU BASTARD!!!

Why are lot of people expecting a specific arc to Vegapunk. He may as well be just a part of a major arc
I think he’ll be a major part of the next arc which will be about the emerald city.

I love the straw hats, and yeah they’re strong but I think they need to get stronger for shanks or Blackbeard.

As such, the emerald city arc will do just that for many of them. It’s an arc that was already hinted at pre timeskip, Nami hasn’t gotten her own side plot or main plot in any Post TS arc like the other straw hats and this would fit perfectly, and the story of the emerald city fits perfectly with an introduction to vegapunk and a great place to get upgrades.

What is bothering me is Oda saying he wants to wrap the story in 5 years. So how is he going to wrap all the story points in just 5 years. Dresserosa took around 2 years and Wano is taking more than that and still not likely to be done soon.

It will be a big final arc. The events happened in the chapters between Wano's Acts did lead to the final war! But of course the SHs will visit many islands during this arc. Elbaf for sure, and maybe also the island where Vegapunk lives (i doubt he lives in Marejoa) which i imagine it like a futuristic island, and maybe, thanks to Vegapunk...the Moon! And in the end Laugh Tale and Marejoa.

You are implying that after Wano‚ it will be the final saga divided into mini arc with omg big final arc similar to what happened pre time skip ( Sabaody + Amazon Lily + Impel Down + Marineford ) ?

I think most arc length will be between Drum Island and Alabasta in length.

Yes. But even right now we have this, because we're in the 'Yonko Arc' with FI,PH,DR,Zou,WCI and Wano as arcs who are part of this mega-arc. In all of these arcs Big Mom and Kaido were somehow involved.

You got a point ! And with the end of Wano comes the end of the Yonkoi saga and starts the final saga for the One Piece. I assume there would be no more Yonkoi after Wano cause my prediction is that Shanks is dying to Blackbeard. And when Blackbeard fights Luffy for the One piece‚ it will be a fight between D not as Yonkoi
