Oda has already gone above and beyond at portraying Sakazuki as the ultimate marine and a force of sheer terror with everything from feats to intent even outside the man, yet people still wanna disrespect his name
They won’t be talking when Sakazuki is one of the endgame obstacles that far outclasses what Shanks will demonstrate. I can already see the future arguments:
“hurr durr Akainu grew since he became fleet admiral!!”
Mans is in his 50’s he ain’t going through no major power blooms, matching Whitebeard then steamrolling his crew is evidence enough he’s nigh unstoppable.

I’ve read the chapters again with Shanks and Akainu and I admit that "Akainu is scared of Shanks" was bullshit.
I remembered it wrong and gonna admit my mistake.
I still think that they‘re currently on the same lvl and that Akainu will be stronger EoS

I can see Shanks eventually ranging on Kizaru's level mostly based off his reaction towards Benn and how Benn = Shanks looks possible judging off his vivre card. Of course this is speculation, we know too little, it's merely a possibility.
It's instead more unlikely that Shanks is as strong as MF Akainu, probably quite quite unlikely if FW Akainu.

My other points still stand and I haven’t changed my mind regarding their strength. I only corrected the "fear" part.

As I said, I think that Shanks was stronger during MF but I corrected the part about "Akainu feared him."
Shanks strength is just speculation, maybe I’m wrong but currently I think it’s something like this:
