Learning Spanish is a joke compared to learning Japanese. I would have been fluent in Spanish if I tried 10% as hard to learn it as Japanese.

With Japanese I've given up and restarted like 6 times.

Completely relatable, Japanese is BRUTAL. Hiragana and Katana seem straightfoward enough but then the "KANJI NATION ATTACKED!" And there's the writing right to left and vertically, the grammar and such but it still pales in complexity, sheer numbers of characters to learn and difficulty to Mandarin though? Mandarin definitely takes a lifetime to learn from what I've heard! Literally thousands of characters to learn!

I tried to study Japanese twice and it just broke me lol, the Kanji alone was too much! Up to 24 strokes to write a single Kanji? Fuck that!
