Alright lets have a look at Kaidos reaction to Luffys basic CoC and Zoros ''basic'' CoC

If you look closely at Kaidos facial reaction to Zoros CoC, you can see a similarity to when he reacts to Luffy usind advanced CoC

Not clear if he used CoC. He did it after all in Asura which is something really out of ordinary and does not make any sense in the powersystem of OP and recently Sanji's DJ was explained in the same way as in a SBS, basically = magic, the same can be for Zoro.
P.S: Adv CoC is out of question since Kaido was excited about Luffy using it but he didnt care about Zoro's. At most it was infused with basic CoC in a unconsciously way, like Luffy vs Kata, Chinjao, Doffy.

He used CoC coating. We know it’s basically required at this point to do any lasting damage to Kaido. As someone who’s been doing that shit for a long time, it would make no sense for Kaido not to recognize someone using CoC. That doesn’t mean asura IS the manifestation of conqueror’s haki, it just means Zoro subconsciously coated the attack with it. Using basic conqueror’s haki behind your attack doesn’t give it any boost unless… we want to make the argument that Zoro is strong enough to do lasting damage to Kaido without advanced CoC? I’m not sure if y’all like this option lol, that only makes Zoro look even stronger.

Lasting scar =/= lasting damage
Two completely different things.
Lasting damage = what Zoro had after Mihawk's fight which troubled him in some moments in his fight against Hachi.
Kaido is not hindered at all by Zoro's attack from what we saw until now. When we'll have a Lucci's moment with him (when his legs failed because of the lasting damage of the G3 from Luffy), then you can say Zoro did lasting damage.
For now, CoC, or whatever he used, is simply the means to block Kaido's regeneration. He can't fully heal scars inflicted by CoC imbued attacks, that's all.
The CoC bursts are because they both clashed attacks.
Zoro didn't clash any attack with Kaido, he cut him cleanly.
