Garp doesn't have CoC as far as we know and he was able to match Roger, Whitebeard and Sengoku, all CoC users.

Admirals with extremely powerful logias, awakening and Advanced Armament (They already showed barrier haki in Marineford) and Advanced Observation (Aokiji and Akainu hinted at using Future Sight during Marineford) can very well keep up with the Yonkos.
Yeah man but its all speculation until it's confirmed by the canon material. I don't think he needs it to be that strong tbh but I don't mind him having it as well.
CoC is willpower.
its not that people with CoC develop enough will to make it to the top. its that people with enough willpower to make it to the top also develop CoC.
only the predisposition is heriditary. which mirrors how it is in real life.
its possible to beat genetics, but only to an extent.
The more i think about it, the more i figure out how much it sucks because it basically invalidates a shit-ton of great characters who don't have CoC. We're basically facing the Naruto dilemma now of "you're either born with broken abilities and haxx or you can jump off a cliff and stop trying you pathetic untalented loser"
What about the Admirals? Revolutionaries - aside from Dragon? Random characters like Coby who aspire to be top-tier? Should they all just give up because no matter what they do characters like Luffy can casually one shot them with Advanced CoC? Or should they all get CoC themselves until the power-creep destroys the entire story
Oda should explain the effort part of AdvCoC tho, he had a chance to explain all that when Hancock mention that CoC manifests from the will to stand above others. So imo Oda's concept is that the stronger will you have and the stronger effort you have to dominate etc, or the more persistence you are in inventing ways to defeat an enemy, you can get CoC, and then Oda should formulate for Luffy to be the one that struggle the most, trying the most to find ways to victory and being the most creative in utilizing his powers, and then Oda can make his CoC bloom by those efforts as a reward / invention.
Not some genetic or fated hax, Oda should emphasize this imo. So imo it has much potential but the execution of the concept is so lacking and it was ruined due to it being just a powerlevel hype tool (omg Luffy has it and he can use it now so he's so powerful) instead of being intimate in exploring the concepts, the feelings of it, its shape and flow etc
ACoC is fine, it's a very nice fighting mean, the thing is it looks consistently stronger than ACoA for now so I would really love to see where Oda is heading. It seems like he wishes to make CoC users the most powerful around at least on average. Unless Mihawk for instance is no CoC user but a massive CoA and CoO one which can cope with that and yet this seems improbable nowadays also considering he looks like a guy who should easily possess CoC given his will.
The advanced CoC that was so anticipated and hyped by the fandom, turns out to be an upgraded CoA. The stronger CoC emission wins, that's it. No fucking creativity at all.
Advanced CoC should have been centered around hax abilities instead, something that bends space/time or grant weather control etc... to distinguish an advanced CoC user from another, the canon advanced CoC which clown Oda made is basically a refurbished super CoA that makes your punch very strong but can still be weaker than your opponent if his CoC is very, very strong too.
Yeah, we've been in the naruto dilemma for quite some time now
The thing is tho, most characters who don't have CoC were never supposed to compete with Luffy in the first place. The admirals will probably be defeated by side characters(Zoro, sanji, sabo, ect.) while Luffy takes on Akainu.
The revo commanders outright were just supposed to be tobi roppo-commander tier characters.
And as for Coby. He aspires to be an admiral, which is the same position Sengoku had in the roger era. Given how Sengoku has CoC, I'm willing to bet Coby will get it as well.
OP gets it. Not only is advanced CoC uninteresting from a battle standpoint (basically power auras, clashing sparks, and besides that it’s just regular combat that doesn’t ‘touch’), it also has the potential to create a power creep problem. Either barely anyone can obtain it or oda starts giving it to everyone from here out. It makes Luffy look cool because it ups the wow factor but I hope it doesn’t become a norm after this arc. If it’s supplemental to encounters like future sight then ok, but CoC seems so important I don’t think it will be.

I still hope there's more to CoC than what is being let on, and there are potentially other special benefits such as manipulating weather like you mentioned. Otherwise, CoC is a giant disappointment that is literally just better CoA but for special people.
is Zoro and Sanji not fighting devil fruit users and winning this entire series? Devil fruits have never been established as ‘needed’ to be strong. Since Mihawk first split a ship with his sword, we knew that strength was strength not a devil fruit. Devil fruits have never been the be all end all with power and ability, but CoC definitely has the potential to be, if Kaido is saying things like “only the truly strong can use it.” And it turns out ‘truly strong’ = people born with it.
