Zoro scarred hybrid Kaido. Nobody else has done that. Oden scarred dragon Kaido who is weaker. Even current Luffy hasn't caused Kaido any significant damage.

Even now, Zoro isn't using haki and dealing with everything King is throwing at him. There's a reason King tried to beat Zoro by knocking him off the island instead of beating him in combat.
