He lost to Kaido due to not mastery of CoC
After he mastered it, he is going toe to toe
There's no difference between when he used it in 1010 and now. Both versions are the same and he's using it with ease. He's just not Yonko Level. Yonko Level means you are capable of beating a Yonko who is fresh in a 'fair' 1v1 fight. If Kaido was fresh and Luffy was fresh and they fought in a serious 1v1 Luffy would put up a high dif fight but he would lose.

By the way
After watching recent events…

is it safe to say that the bridge between YC1 and Yonko is actually only the Mastery of Advanced CoC!?

especially when we saw Luffy’s growth this arc…

he only really became able to go toe to toe with Kaido thanks to CoC… and applying what he learned with Ryuu flow in king’s haki…

especially since we saw someone like Marco is able to use Ryuu before… and I think most YC1 have some good mastery in Ryuu…

so their only power up needed to reach Yonko status is to apply the Ryuu with CoC.. and they are set to become close to or equal to Yonko…

especially with someone like Katakuri who mastered CoO, and has great level of Armament and a confirmed CoC user…

while Marco hasn’t shown sign of being gifted with CoC which makes him unable to reach that level unless he unlock it

and maybe King with his title being King, he might possibly have CoC in him… to have potential to be yonko if he mastered that

and so on…
Great CoC is one of the final hurdles to reaching and surpassing Yonko level, yes. But base stats as a whole are also exponentially higher in general. CoO, CoA, agility, physical strength all at the highest level when you’re a Yonko.

We’ve seen someone stronger than YC1 use coating already (Yamato) and it was clear that wasn’t enough to compete. The Yonko especially Kaido are just playing in a different league.

The Rogue Prince
That's the headcanon.
Don't pretend like Zoro had suddenly gave up his sword just because someone who is not even Luffy asked him to.

He cares what's best for him, he should be at his greatest strength, they're planning to take Yonko crew. If Enma is any less than Shusui, 0% chance Zoro will just give it away just BeCauSe iT is WAno treAsUre, that's what Zoro think is more important than the mission to take Yonko right?? lol
Lol. Show me a single panel where Kinemon tells him that Shusui is Wano's national treasure lol.

Zoro, even before meeting Luffy, was kind at heart. Re read Romance Dawn lol. Ofcourse he isnt complaining now that he got Enma but keep misrepresenting Zoro's character for agendas lol. Which Japanese Youtuber told this in a video this time? Lmao

Zoro Worshipper
That's not accurate. Enma is most likely not wielding Oden's spirit, I explained it here:
Enma is important because it stores Oden's memories and feelings and that's some dope stuff. This is why it's so hyped, it also reminded Kaido of the past time and he saw that through CoO.

However there's no evidence of Oden's soul standing in there, he should be gone, he ain't no Brook or something, that's just mental stretching.

And by the way when Oden died his arm was normal so he didn't store any haki inside Enma, that's Zoro's haki.

Also Enma cuts more than necessary in that it forces the user to use more haki than he would but Zoro seemed to learn how to control that and used this peculiarity to get stronger via training but now Enma is not cutting more than necessary because Zoro's arm is normal, the sword is not forcing something crazy out of him.
