In chapter 1033 we learn that only a very strong swordsman with strong haki (possible must have AdCoC) can use Enma.

But from Oden's flashback we know that 9 ≈ 10 years old Oden had both Enma and Ame no Habakiri.

And we know that Oden didn't know what AdCoC even was, nevermind use it, until he met Roger.

So did Enma like Oden better or was 10 Y.O. Oden stronger than current Zoro (impossible) or is it simply a plot hole ?

Enma and Oden both had this sort of wild temperament so it seems pretty understandable that they worked so well together. Zoro’s a lot more restrained than Oden was. Even the way they’ve been fighting, up until now Zoro‘s being trying to hold back his Haki and sort of fighting with Enma, Oden’s probably always just went hell for leather and let it have everything.

Nah, as Kozaburo implied, you need to use swords in accordance with its personality, Enma's personality is to suck the wielder's haki, if said person is afraid of letting his haki absorbed by Enma, he wouldnt be able to control Enma properly, that's what zoro has been doing the whole time until he let all of his haki to pour into Enma without any restrictions

It doesnt mean kid Oden is stronger than zoro, not in the slightest, it just means that Oden wasnt afraid of Enma sucking out his haki, that's the reason why kid Oden could use Enma properly

Though it does still means that Oden was a monester even when he was a kid, since it is still a fact that you have to surpass a certain threshold of strength to be able to use it

Oden is a natural born monster and had years to get used to Enma even as a kid while Zoro has the sword for like a week and is still getting tested while fighting King lol
Also, given Oden's personality before maturing, he deffinitly would go crazy in his fights even the more random ones which fitts Enma's will to keep fighting and destroying. Zoro on the other hand has been holding his haki so far, just like how he wonders about regulating his haki in the new chapter or how he said he needed to release more power during the rooftop fight.

Swords have no ill will against the user so Enma only did what was necessary for Oden's level when he was a child

I'd say that Enma wasn't as taxing as it is now for Oden than it is now for Zoro. Oden got stronger so Enma grew more and more accustomed to Oden's strength and haki.
Think of Samehada.
But it's still impressive as fuck for Oden to tame Enma.

Oden was a monster as a child and had a reputation of a man who would not blink at any sacrifice. He had many years to adjust towards Enma and I am sure that he definitely faced obstacles to get to that.

Yes, Oden didn't know what AdCoC was until he met Roger, we must keep in mind the culture and superstitions that are fostered in a closed off country as Wano. Their dialect is different than what we are used to as well as their name for different haki types and classification of devil fruits (supernatural powers/ninjutsu techniques).

What I'm more curious is when Enma was crafted, was it intended for the Kozuki family? So Sukiyaki kept it around alongside Ame No Habakiri and intended for his son to inherit them? Or did Oden just steal those swords off the mantle and ran off with them?

I'd say that Enma wasn't as taxing as it is now for Oden than it is now for Zoro. Oden got stronger so Enma grew more and more accustomed to Oden's strength and haki.
Think of Samehada.
But it's still impressive as fuck for Oden to tame Enma.

If swords actually have a sort of personality like it's implied, you could argue that Enma was more used to Oden as an adult.
So when Young Oden was wielding it, it didn't drain and damage it's weilder as much, but as Oden grew and unleashed more of Enma's power, then the sword itself got used to being required to drain that much Haki.
So Zoro is actually using Enma as was "leveled up" or "unleashed" by Adult Oden, not just merely Young Oden.
