oh you don’t like how fight how handle this way . I see
what make fights more interesting to you like high difficulty fight between two opponents or fighting require a brain ?
The final arc gets MUCH worse than that so you did the right thing. There is some imo FANTASTIC stuff later on genuinely but it gets overshadowed by the IMMENSE and ABUNDANT BS by far in the entire series!
Natsu and Gajeel vs Sting and Rogue was some of the biggest BS there, along with Laxus vs Raven Tail, sigh....And it's not the last of that type of BS either! Given what Rogue's character leads to in a very massive way narratively as well, it's also frustratingly and ironically bittersweet. One of the most emotional, tragic, beautiful scenes I've seen in an anime but my god, does Mashima make you SUFFER to see the good stuff! (Much like my exes!)
Seriously though, it's only worth seeing certain moments animated or at least reading them n the manga. Silver is a fucking brilliant character imo and I really enjoyed Irene but what happened with her and Erza is ironically some of the absolute writing I've ever seen too LMAO! It genuinely made me rage so damn much, I rage quit Fairy Tail and went through a real salty phase like I did with the ends of Naruto and Bleach, but worse!
Haven’t checked it out yet, and I still plan on doing so despite the cancellation and negative reviews…but man, this one looked promising enough before its premiere to make me think it could buck the convention of shitty live action adaptations

Depends.
I believe that fights can be different from one another. Some are more "guts vs guts", some are "brain vs guts", "brains vs brains", etc.
What I don't like are cheap "twists" like "oh shit, we are getting owned. ops, just kidding. now I'm soloing the 2 dudes that were whooping my ass because reasons".
These "big swing out of nowhere" fights are a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge "no no" for me. Which is the reason I don't like Jinbe vs Whoswho.

Tbh, I can actually agree with the Jinbei vs Who's Who fight. The Flying 6 fights were very flashy and underwhelming, over way too soon but I'm assuming it's to give Toei a lot of room to stretch them out. BUT why are Zoro and Sanji getting so many chapters for their fights then? I mean there are some certain obvious reasons why they would get more focus I guess but still?
I'm so glad to see Jinbei finally get a proper 1v1 but RIP Brook (again ironically), he hasn't had one yet unless you do count Zeo from FMI or vs Big Mom? But I don't count either tbh! I want to see Brook have a truly difficult fight that he wins, a high diff or so ofc.
Who's Who felt like Oda's way of saying "what if Lucci was here but not quite as competent too?" but now Lucci is showing up anyway! I do think Lucci might end up silencing and thus killing Who's Who but that's a vain hope with Oda to actually kill off characters, especially lately ofc!
A popular character is more likely to die instead, but then again, was Yasuie more popular than Who's Who?
It was cool to see Jinbei kicking so much ass but utimately underwhelming in the long run/in hindsight imo. I also didn't get to see him use any water techniques too which was disappointing, I mean he's fighting a "giant cat" so that would have ironically been effective and a potential gag moment too? He's shown to be able to manipulate the moisture in the air before and since they were in a "cat cafe", there must be milk or at least water around surely?
I'm just hoping the anime really makes up for these fights. I loved seeing Robin's new form and getting a proper 1v1 fight after almost 2 DECADES (literally!) but these fights were over so quickly, it was underwhelming! Unless they're gonna fight more againt some others like CP0 or the Big Mom pirates (who might finally reappear from the Bermuda/Florian Triangle, Purgatory/the Void/a Black Hole or wherever the hell they are and what happened to them!)
Morj apparently even thinks the Flying 6 and Calamities are gonna show awakenings and the raid will STILL fail according to him! He wanted Wano to go for over 200 or was it 250 chapters even too!?

Ironically there's this "holy guy" in the final arc who fights by using "pleasure magic" too! And it does exactly what you can imagine it does too!
Because Sanji and Zoro have "plots" built inside their fights.
Jinbe got a little extension on his fight due to the "Nika" shenanigan.
"Nami" vs Ulti took some chapters as well.
Robin had a little bit of stretch during her fight with the Wing thing and Black Maria trying to taunt her, etc, etc.
Franky vs Sasaki is the only one that was a pure fight due to them being enemies. No plot, no sad backstory for Sasaki, no nothing. Just the fight. Ended in 1.
