Ok I understand. I do think you should try to give it another shot. I do agree the 2011 version has cut out a lot from the original manga. The early stages of the 2011 version is heavily censored and not as comedic as the 1999 version. However it gets better within the second arc.

I suggest you watch the 1999 version for the first arc. And when you finish the Hunter exam switch to the 2011 version. Thats the best way tbh. I also disliked HxH at first. My friend kept on pestering me to finish because the later arcs are purely amazing.

Im currently watching the 1999 version and it feels like its a whole completely different anime.

Chrollo vs Hisoka is probably my favourite Shonen fight. I put it above Mereum vs Netero, Luffy vs Lucci, Naruto vs Sasuke and even Saitama vs Boros. Its just amazing seeing Chrollo constantly outwit Hisoka, and Hisoka just accpeting the fact that he asked for it. Smiling everytime the fight gets even more difficult. And eventually dying with an orgasm lmao.

Chrollo vs Hisoka would be so great if it would get a animation.
Seeing how Chrollo deal with a caliber as Hisoka was insane good, also the whole build up and fight was very good from Togashi.
Would love a battle with Chrollo vs Netero or Zeno(he did but it was most like as Chrollo didn´t really fight all out).

I think @Owl Ki and @Edward Teach will probably appreciate this, but I think Kingdom has utterly ruined Shonen Fights for me lol.

I used to think fights like Lee vs Gara, Luffy VS Lucci, Deku vs Todoroki, etc..fights of that kind were the greatest fights ever,

And then I read Kingdom where literally every individual major fight utterly dwarfs the best fights from all other manga (except Berserk baby)

And just this morning I watched episode 19 of Demon Slayer which Shonen fans say is where Demon Slayer made its claim for having one of the best fights in Shonen..but after watching the fight, I just thought it was pretty good, but still not as good as most major fights in Kingdom lol.

I really feel like Kingdom has almost perfected the art of the Shonen, and even the highest points of other Shonen are simply on par with every Kingdom fight lol.

So idk if I can enjoy Shonen anymore when even the incredibly praised Demon Slayer fight in ep. 19 was just “pretty good” for me lol.

Tbh is it even possible reading the fight with no context. They would be confused with the different powers.

Chrollo would mind fuck any beginner lol. They should at the very least know the properties of Bungee Gum

Trust me. The fights in H x H are legit incredibly well done animated or not animated. H x H starts off a bit slow but really picks up. Theres a reason I'm a die hard H x H stan. It's legit the best Shounen of all time without a doubt in my mind. It does everything it needs to do incredibly well. There are no Mary Sues, the world changes even without the main characters, and the villains are incredibly well written.

Yea, I meant like he should stomach everything before and get to Chrollo vs Hisoka. And yea, it's impossible to understand that fight without having a lot experience with how nen works. Each ability Chrollo pulled out had me giddy as fuck because those abillities used alone are not all that useful or great except for like Black Voice but he managed to turn a bunch of B or lower tier nen abilities into a perfect strategy.
