So Oda introduced this ugly motherfucker, barely showed him at all, and then abolished the Shichibukai system entirely. And while it's very easy to speculate about the role some of the former Shichibukai will play in the story (Boa, Mihawk, Buggy, etc.), it certainly feels like nobody ever talks about this guy. Is there even hype surrounding him? Does anyone think he's going to be a threat for any of the important characters?

I'm just struggling to see what his purpose will be. What do you think Oda has planned for this guy? Why does he exist?

he was meant to fight luffy, but current luffy would beat his ass.

I used to think he would end up being the tenth captain for bb (then I realized there were already 10 established captains and that he hates bb anyway 🤦🏾‍♂️) and I noticed similarities w him and yamato and assumed that would be a fight but it doesn’t really make sense to me now, especially w Yamato’s df reveal I think she’s a perfect choice to face Catarina Devon actually. But now idk what to do w Weevil; he could be a hype tool for someone, or maybe he’s someone Luffy turns into an ally and separates him from his mother’s exploitation.

would it be plausible for him to ally himself with Blackbeard and continue hunting Whitebeard's commanders like Marco, Izou, Vista and Jozu

I could see him as just a background character who does everything offscreen but actually has feats. I doubt he has too huge a role in this story beyond just being someone who BB might kill and Moria harvests or someone the WG uses like Kuma.

At this point I think it may have more impact if the ones hunting the commanders are the already established BB Captains; that would be more efficient since we already know they're gonna fight the Strawhats at some point.

Likewise, if his role is just to be killed by Blackbeard, it doesn't really make sense either IMO. We have no real idea of Weevil's strength and threat level, and it's not like we're emotionally invested in his story, so him getting killed would be such a nonstarter. Like, Absalom's death would still be more impactful at that point.

I think BlackBeard will recruit him.He is pretty dumb,BB can easily talk him into his crew.

He is really random, pehaps his plot will somehow connect with Rocks one, as seems like his mom and WB meet in the Rocks crew, pehaps she will go with him to the Pirates Island that Teach rule and he will be the Jack of Teach crew lol

Maybe he is destined to accomplish something significant later on but probably not much in the Big picture

Remember the two giants at the gate of Enies Lobby ?

Weevil is the NW version of those two giants, and will be part of the alliance once WB pirates make him realize he was tricked just like what Happened with the two giants

all will happen in war against Rocks pirates

His plot will definitely be mostly about clashing with the WB pirates

Miss Bakkin and Weevil somehow reminds me of Babidy and Fat Bhu in DBZ. Maybe he will be friend Ussop (Mr. Satan)?

I suspect that Oda had plans for him and Marco that have been shelved in order to hurry the series along.

Could see Usopp being the Mr Satan to his Boo on Elbaf mind you.
