Zoro giving scar to kaido wasnt planned. But why did Oda gave Enma plot point about only blade being able to cut kaido?
Maybe Oda has always planned for ZKK and scarring kaido was just a bonus?

I dont know about Big Mom. Big Mom being in Wano makes sense because this is the Yonkou saga and the rise of a new generation. And Big Mom is the oldest Yonkou so her falling in Wano makes sense.
In the original its probably like this.
Kaido vs Luffy+Zoro
Big Mom vs Kid+?
Doffy vs Law
King vs Zoro (After fighting Kaido for some time)
Queen vs Sanji

But after Doflamingos defeat it was Big Mom vs Kid and Law. But without Roofpiece.

Nowhere was it ever stated that rooftop is filler or fanservice.
All oda said is that he was asked to draw something cool for chapter 1000 if anything he was planning to start rooftop earlier but had to stall.

The proof that it was only meant to be Kaido, Luffy, and Zoro is that the other characters did nothing story relevant.
Thats the reason why Law and Kid and also Big Mom didnt show nuch of their abilities.
Everything story relevant that happened on the roof could also happen with only Kaido Luffy and Zoro.
