Well yes but actually no.

He did the rumbling on his own volition and says he still would have done it both 1) even if his friends didn’t stop him and 2) even if Ymir didn’t approve. The reason it seems weird is because he saw the future and knew he would fail which creates a weird kind of pre-destination paradox.


Honestly I’m not sure if the ending contradicts Eren’s character or not. It’s just so confusing and borderline nonsensical.

-Whitebeard says he doesn't care about it
-Roger's surprise reveal ruined

Damn, at least WB was curious about the will of D so Roger got to share something, or maybe Roger pulled a 200 IQ move and steered the conversation into his name and the will of D. because it's related to what he wanted to tell him in the first place.
