Powers & Abilities Hasn't Kidd been relevantly nerfed by losing one arm?

#1
I notice that people don't mind much the fact that Kidd in this arc has actually been fighting with only one arm, mostly because he is able to somehow substitute the other with a mechanical one, but to me it's clear that he has been significantly nerfed.
Unlike Franky, who turned his body into machine as a means to strengthen it, Kidd is a devil fruit user, and not a cyborg, meaning that Kidd's mechanical arm is basically just his version of Perospero's fake arm that he created with his devil fruit power.
And this means that, just like Perospero, Kidd has to focus part of his devil fruit power just to maintain his mechanical arm in movement, rather than being able to just move it freely, because it's not part of his body, so he lost all the muscular power he had in the real one, and it's also harder for him to use the mechanical arm as a point of focus to attract metals around around him and create some giant arm, for example.
I think this was made clear by the fact that when he used Punk Gibson he covered his real arm with metal until forming that giant one, and the impact the attack had was powered by by the muscles of his arm, meaning that it was much stronger than it would be if he had used Punk Gibson with the mechanical arm.
So my conclusion is that Kidd should have had much more impressive feats in his fights with Kaidou and Big Mom if he had two arms.

But nerfing him by making him lose one arm was the means that Oda found to make Kidd an equal to Law and inferior to Luffy.
Especially in the case of the Straw Hats, the bounties are far from being accurate indicators of power levels, but in the case of the Worst Generation, I'm quite sure it's fair to assume that the difference of number between the bounties of Kidd, Luffy, Law, Hawkins, etc. (except for Zoro) was more or less a ranking of power between them, because Oda simply had no reason to make a new pirate character that was weaker have a higher bounty than a stronger one that was being introduced in the series at the same time.
So Kidd was originally portrayed as equal or a bit stronger than Luffy, and significantly stronger than Law.
But Oda wanted Luffy to be the one to beat Kaidou in the end, while Kidd and Law would help each other to beat the other Yonkou, and this wouldn't make much sense if Kidd were still equal or stronger than Luffy, so Oda solved the problem by nerfing him with one arm less, so that he would fall to Law's level.

He has no nerves. Shanks got stronger and became Yonko with one arm. Kid is at the level of the law.

Not really i think.

First Kid isn't really a CQC brawler, he don't throw normal punch etc.

Second Kid can still create his huge metal arm with whom he fights with.

And finally Kid can create some gear in his arm to make it stronger. While i think the ice leg indeed made Aokiji stronger, because no way a block of ice can create the strength of an admiral leg, Kid arm is not much of a loss.

He can create some huge metal arm to fight. But he seems to make sure to always create the huge metal arm around his real arm, and not around the fake one.
So it seems to make sense to think that the muscular strength of his real arm (that is covered with all the metal) is included to determine how powerful his attacks with the giant metal arm are, since he is in fact moving his real arm together in order to move the giant one, that is covering it, so as to push or punch his enemies.
But yes, Aokiji losing his leg was a much worse loss.

I agree completely but contrary to an ice arm or a pure metal one Kid arm is different.
Kid arm is cyborg like, it has gears and engine etc. It can likely create force in itself, with tubes etc etc.

It’s not just metal it’s better than that.

he needs his real arm to use assign, so its definitely a major nerf. However, he could bypass this by finding more creative ways to use assign that don't revolve around him going up and touching his enemy.

Like he could assign a north and a south pole to both of his metal arms in order to crush someone between the two. Or he could assign the ground to manipulate it like shiki.

the only moment where kid uses his own arms to fight is when assigning magnetic power to a target and there was no moment when he tried to do that that the lack of an arm had significance. not having an arm has zero impact on his strength because he does not fight using his body

I agree with both sides in a few points where yes, gears and pipes might make his metal arm stronger than the other one, but there is still a problem with that he must use more energy than he used to in a regular battle. There is another side that leads everything to the fact that by the higher focus on his metal arm his focus in combat got stronger too, which at the end led him to a greater and faster win by analyzing the situation faster.

Tho people should stop thinking about him as a walking brute with nothing in his brain tho
