Luffy wouldn’t have his Gears if not for CP9. Luffy increased his blood flow in order to move faster like Soru. If he never fought a Soru user would he have thought to do that on his own?

He also developed Gear 3rd because his punches were simply too weak to bypass CP9’s Tekkai defense. Would he have thought to unlock Gear 3rd if he hadn’t faced CP9 membs with such strong defense???
