the weakest people got smiles to eat, they are forced to only laugh anymore, everyone could see who is the weakest by their permanent laughing, even in tears.
Kaidos biggest terror to the people was to take their emotion and only let them laugh…

and now, it feels kinda poetic, he will taken down by a man who can’t stop laughing, who will bring joy to the world and let the whole world laugh. Bringing laughing as a strength, while Kaido tried to force it as weakness!

Yeh Chopper needs an endgame plot desperately at this point so doing it now wouldn’t be the worst thing and would create some “tension” but the fact Oda ain’t mentioned it since pretimeskip still makes me feel like it was just used for fake drama

Shanks giving his strawhat to Luffy has a lit deeper meaning at this point. Maybe shanks wanted to eat the DF and thought he was the incarnation of Joyboy. That’s why he was wearing Joyboy‘s strawhat. At the moment when Luffy are the DF Shanks accepted that the fruit chose Luffy and was aware of his potential. So he was not just giving his hat to a kid he liked in a small village, but was giving the new Joyboy his crown. What a moment. Shanks knew all the time. That’s why he was so sure that Luffy will surpass him. The DF literally told him !!!
