I'll let you on on a secret... I don't mind Zoro at all. He's in my top 15 strongest, but trolling butt hurt Zoro fans is the funniest shit because it makes them more fanatical. Yeah I kinda blame Oda's editor for not doing a better job at managing pacing or making him cut some of the minor characters. The people who control pacing in WSJ series is usually the editors, not the author.

you know i didnt just join now, right? i joined when i still liked one piece, alot. i spent alot of time discussing this manga, just because its trash now doesnt mean i will stop discussing it.

i do read manga that i like, but i also finished bleach even though that was an utter clown fiesta for the majority of it.

Ohk this maybe just my opinion but everyone manga does fall after reaching a peak. Literally every manga. Mha , aot , Naruto , sds , jjk. Just look at what happened to sds and Tokyo ghoul. People just lost their hype. Because author gave them a peak already and they set that as their benchmark. Marineford was peak mainly because though luffy being important there, it focused a lot more on side character. A complete masterpiece with everyone getting panels they deserve rather than wasting it on Mc again and again.

I only disagree with this because to me peak One Piece is actually Water 7 and Enies Lobby, i like it way more than Marineford

yet, i still enjoyed Marineford of course

so a peak didn't make the next arcs bad for me

you know what i mean?

I also still really liked Naruto after Pain, i only had problems with Kaguya, and even Naruto vs Sasuke after Kaguya was great for me

AoT for me was great right up to the last 9 ~ 7 chapters, and mainly the last 2 chapters

the rest of them i can agree

it's not a set rule, i think you can still make quality arcs even past a series peak

but One Piece felt like it changed, it wasn't a story about adventure with your crew anymore

became the Luffy show and Straw Hats became side characters, and Oda makes a bunch of side characters each arc that steal even more time from the Straw Hats

and the arcs don't feel like adventures anymore, at least not me

it felt like Oda trained his viewers to expect and enjoy something, and then took it away from his readers

to be fair

a lot of people come to WorstGen because they wanna talk about One Piece, especially negative opinions, because in other places of the community like Youtube, Twitter and Reddit, negative opinions get downvoted and disliked to hell and nobody can see or talk about your opinions

so it makes perfect sense for me why someone that has disliked things about One Piece would come here to talk about their feelings on the story

Like, some people don't even want to admit how underdeveloped the Beast Pirates really are. Specially compared to Dressrosa where every member of the Donquixote family had their own quirks, moments and even flashbacks like Baby 5 and Senor Pink. We even get to see how Doflamingo started the family and eventually recruited all of them.

Meanwhile for the Beast Pirates we have Page One and Ulti which we had to get a little snipet of them being adopted by Kaido through an SBS and Sasaki's only characterization being having Denjiro as a drinking buddy and exchanging two lines with Yamato.

Honestly baffling, undercooked, shit planning + ratio

Sure you had some flashbacks and Bellamy was a big character all things considered. But Popper, Viola, Booger, Lao, and Sharkboy weren't that great.

King and Who's Who got the most background here, but Hawkins, Apoo, Jack, Kanjuro, Big Mom, Perospero, and Queen all got enormous screen time throughout the series, if not background. Orochi was like Spandam on steroids. Fuku was well seeded despite being kind of lame. The ensemble of villains from the whole new world broke away a good bit further from the Baroque Works mold.
