It was just offscreened ZKK.
Kaido trying to kill himself by jumping => Shinigami was not strong enough to defeat Kaido.
Zoro defeated Shinigami => Took his place..=> Kaido tried to kill himself hoping to have one more fight since he was bored...but got killed
