Character Discussion Please explain how Sanji relying on his friend is "embarrassing"?

There is no problem with relying on friends
The problem is the situations you let yourself fall in where you will get embarrassed, desperately need others help & endanger them

For example, Zoro taking Hakai was necessary & it ended with him needing Sanji's Help & then Chopper's
But Sanji abandoning his Captain to chase some girl, & then get caught by some trash & then getting humiliated by the enemy & then letting the whole Island hear his cry for help which leads to Robin coming to Black Maria's Room which is what the enemy wants ... etc
That is what makes it pathetic

There is no being pathetic in asking help of a friend for something you cant do, the trap was not the problem for sanji as he could've easily escape but the problem was he was against women

1. This scene is literally the case example of his speech to Usopp in Enies Lobby. You do what I can't do, I will do what you can't do.

2. Sanji can actually leave. But just like many of his situations are, as early as FI blood transfusion, Sanji have become a tool for Oda to convey plot and narrative. This way he "can't" leave even when he's abe to.

3. Lastly, this is a Zoro forum, OP. Anything Sanji related will bring a hater or two, so it's not about bad take or good take.

The pathetic part is the context itself. One thing is falling in a situation where you can't do anything, because you simply can't. (Falling in said situation by helping other ppl is in this category too)and another different thing is falling in said situation because of your own fault and not being able to do anything about it. And asking for help is understandable, but it's kinda meh when you risk a friends life because of that.
However, Sanji felt on said trap because of his simpness, he can't do anything about it because he doesn't want to, and crying out for help is literally doing what the enemy wanted, aka making your friend appear allowing the enemy to catch him/her easier (a friend that is being chased by every-fucking-one mind you). Everything ended up fine, but imagine for a split second that they managed to capture Robin because of Simpji. Either BM defeated her or they gang banged her. That's what makes this pathetic, putting your friend in a very risky situation because you can't help your own ass after being the one who screwed up everything. Messing everything and calling a friend to wipe your mess is awful. Said it once, and I will say it twice, asking for help isn't being pathetic. Context matters.
