Questions & Mysteries Seriously, what did Oda do for Sanji vs Queen??

I really can't understand what went through Oda's head when he wrote this fight. It's not the duration that bothered me but the progress. Zoro vs King is a very good well choreographed fight that showcased the 2 seconds and it didn't bother me personally that it didn't last very long.

For Sanji vs Queen on the other hand I'm sorry but there was little content and I really have a hard time telling myself that it was Oda who wrote this fight when I compare with Sanji vs Mr. 2 and Sanji vs Jyabura which were very high quality. Sanji vs Queen lasted 3 and a half chapters and yet we have very little content in this fight, we have downright 1 whole chapter where Sanji is just running, especially since Queen who loses by not launching an ultimate attack, it's anything and doesn't show off Sanji. Sanji vs Jyabura lasted 1 and a half chapters and yet there is more content in this fight than in the whole Sanji vs Queen and that's not normal!

It's been 10 years since we waited for Sanji to have a real showdown against a powerful opponent, what got into you Oda??

The point of Sanji vs Queen is to show Sanji’s character progress. Queen is basically the dark side of Sanji who abuses women, using the technology of his family that he despises the most, and wasting food which hinders Sanji’s most important principal. While I agree that Sanji vs Queen was not the best choreographed fight of Sanji out there, it’s not like that’s Sanji’s final fight in the series Lol. Sanji at best will have 2 or 3 more fights until EOS. But ya know, you can always go back to Sanji vs Mr. 2 and Sanji vs Jabra for the choreography but the point is that, Queen is Sanji’s best and strongest opponent so far. And Sanji did achieved his purposes in this fight (destroying the RS is a good example).

Nah, it is not bad, it is just not epic.

Sanji fought a character stronger than him and then had a PU. With that PU, he overpowered Queen without much problems.

Queen is not known for being a hard hitter, he is known for his versality and tricks. So there us no reason for a clash of power where Sanji js obviously stronger.

Queen was supposed to make sanji struggle mentally, not physically, which he did, once sanji found his resolve he destroyed him
true but the OP has a point.. Z V K was choreographed well.. everything made sense an in all possible moves zoro could executes and choose to execute in the right time etc.

sanji vs Queen was like

sanji: OMG THIS **** TOO DURABLE

queen : *shit ahaha he doesn't know I'm actually getting damaged*

Oda : lets makes the reader brainstorm possibilities to why i had sanji say that there must be a better way to break Queen's durability when he hasn’t even amped his DJ yet.....

also oda : lets drag this fight out for several chapters with no dynamic fighting just singular panels of him and Queen and then have them play hit for a hit and

- not use sky walk to snaji's advantage in speed and increase the choreographic potential

---------Latter end of the fight ---------

Sanji : Ik you get damage

Queen : how did you PU after i squeezed the shit out of you

Sanji: No shit sherlock here's bEuOfF BURSt

Osome : aye.. you seen my mouse?

King was actually a match for zoro, queen was just getting overwhelmed

Up until ch 1028 the fight was pretty even and they were exchanging hits, but then sanji's genes kicked in and he got way ahead of him

power scaling is not the point

i wouldn't have mind if sanji had an extreme diff but atleast properly portray it that way by having him use everything in his arsenal and draw it like he had with King and Zoro and have him PU when queen's about finish him not in the middle of the fight.

it makes Queen look meh as well innt.
