Host Coordination Thread

Naa I am the same, I have the idea and vision of my game, but it's the process of making the game takes a while, this game technically speaking been work on progress for few months now lol. Every few weeks or month I make a role or few roles. You definitely not alone xD

I work on motivational bursts.
Same here. There are days where I feel pumped af and just crank out role after role but there are other days where I don't work on the setup at all. It's a timely process. No idea how some people can make a whole game within a week. I'ma need at least a month.

With so many people wanting to host there's naturally gonna be some schedule in place so everybody doesn't run into each other. Let's say for example, everybody just creates a signup thread for the game and puts in a start date at July/August. Everybody will see that a crash of games will occur and very little people will signup for games since nobody's gonna want to play two or more games at the same people. Nobody will really want to when every game is 25+ players. So, what happens? The hosts talk to each other and set different start dates to make sure they all can host a game. This thread is basically that. It's easier way to do that and it allows everybody to see when each game will go and so players can know what to sign up for. Sure, it's kinda like going back to how things were but with so many people wanting to host, a schedule becomes a necessity.

You might think fo NF as a place where a schedule isn't needed, that's because NF is dying and there's barely anybody trying to host games.
NF begun ''dying'' ( ie no one hosting there more) when the removal of the schedule happened. Now we are back to a backlog that leads some people to September or more. In my opinion, whoever completes their setup first can host if the other host is fine with it. Anyways, Its not my problem anymore fam.

It's not harmful per se, but it's a mess and I personally don't like messes. Also, it's more efficient to focus on filling up games that will start soon rather than ones that will start later.
I mean what exactly is messy here? This thread was made for hosts to coordinate with each other, Im fine with coordinating with you but as I said with the number of players we have right now waiting, 2 big games running at the same time is more than possible. And by big I mean 25-30.

When I make a role it has to fit my vision and how I see it working, so it takes sometime cause I have to make this ability work in the space of a mafia game. Alot of things need consideration and how the game will progress from one DP to another. This for me is like telling a story and putting the player in an game fully action adventure based while maintaining the integrity of mafia intact. Not sure if you played any of my games, but if you did you would understand where I am coming from.

Everybody is coordinating. I'm providing directions so nobody is confused. I stepped down as a mod, but I'm still in charge of the section, that was made clear weeks ago.

It really isn't. A lot of the same players play the same games and those players don't want to play tmore than one game at the same time. For example, there's no way Aries and I will be able to host our games alongside each other. Players don't want that.

Yeah, I get you. I have the same outlook on hosting as well.

The point is, a schedule is nice and all, but it also makes people unable to host or people who really enjoy a flavour can't play. For example, Light really loves DGM and now won't be able to play. I think it's also up to the players in the game if they want to play and how much and when. If there are different players in two games, they can absolutely run next to each other, regardless of how big the games are. Thing is, I don't want to lose the new players we got to sign up again because of the schedule. We're trying to make it work now, but if it won't work with the schedule we have now, then GG.

Who are those people? The people signed up for Ariess game count for less than half the current Mafia playerbase.

As for you still being in charge, fine. Doesn't mean you get to push our games by months. Because then we are back to the calendar bullshit. Also as I said hosts can talk to each other just fine, I am fine with people going over me if my setup isnt complete. I did it with the WoW game and everything was fine, therefore I dont see a reason to change it into arbitrary deadlines.

Exactly, post games and whatever fills up first gets played. I dont think hosts will mind. I wont.

Seeing games going up until September is giving me calendar flashbacks and I don't want that again.

A few new players signed up for the D Gray man game but according to Drago that game gotta wait till fucking October or something, meaning the chances of those new players will either forget it existed/lose interest or change their mind are high.

Seeing alot of sign up thread is discouraging, you see. I want to know when that game can be hosted and if it collides with anyone else. Then I decide if i wanna play or not based on my schedule. I won't sign up to a game when i am playing another or when i signed up for another game.

Thats a bummer :/.
Tbh I wouldn't mind a trial to see if two games running alongside each other could work. It says in the rules they can, but no two games ever ran like that. You won't know if sth works or not if you don't try. Esp Ratchet's game. It has 18 players. You can easily run another game next to it.

Usually the host will put the starting date of said game, if not you can ping them and ask. And right now there are 4-5 signup threads. There was a rule that was made with the abolishing of the calendar that the delay between posting signups and starting your game cannot surpass a month. That rule has not been enforced and would help in 'cleaning' up the place a bit.

The current mafia playerbase is not the same as the current active mafia playerbase. Not everyone who has ever played mafia still actively plays it.

I'm not personally pushing every game to go later. That's what's naturally gonna happen when everyone wants to host at the same time.
