Host Coordination Thread

I don't see any problem on hosting two games at the same time. I am one of those players who misses out on a sign up thread and I end up having to wait for the next sign up thread to open for me to sign up or I end up having to sign up as a sub. Sometimes it is hard joining a game as a sub because other players who sign up as a sub respond faster than me.

I mean we just had a situation like this like a month ago which I. Think that's the way to deal with this. Two games should not start at around the same time as it will kill both games activity. it is possible to play both but it's obvious people are gonna use other people's activity level in another game to determine whether a player is scummy which is bad.

Smallers games if filled and ready to go can have a 3-4 day delay before starting in alternative phases. It worked with usopp and Drago don't see why it can't work again. Now for bigger games then yeah their should be a delay in games starting without interruptions, at the very least wait till it's half the players are gone or more to start yours to alternate phases.

Activity 80% of the time tends to die down once half or less players have been killed in games, so don't see why not let another host can't start their game then
A host can start their game when half the players in another game has died if they want to. Nobody's saying you can't do that.

It's not harmful per se, but it's a mess and I personally don't like messes. Also, it's more efficient to focus on filling up games that will start soon rather than ones that will start later.
its like an open buffet. u see all those games and sign up to what u want lol

NF begun ''dying'' ( ie no one hosting there more) when the removal of the schedule happened. Now we are back to a backlog that leads some people to September or more. In my opinion, whoever completes their setup first can host if the other host is fine with it. Anyways, Its not my problem anymore fam.
i think NF started dying when the OG players and hosts started leaving cuz of irl, then totally crumbled after mbxx wiped it. players just moved over here cuz its more active / younger player base. NF as a website is dying as a whole, not the mafia section. Don't think the way calendar works had any effect on NF mafia. back then anyone could open a signup and host and the host maturely discuss among them who goes first when ready

Exactly, post games and whatever fills up first gets played. I dont think hosts will mind. I wont.

Seeing games going up until September is giving me calendar flashbacks and I don't want that again.
yeah lmao
remember the calendar. i have to wait 2 years for my game LOL

Seeing alot of sign up thread is discouraging, you see. I want to know when that game can be hosted and if it collides with anyone else. Then I decide if i wanna play or not based on my schedule. I won't sign up to a game when i am playing another or when i signed up for another game.
then its even more beneficial for u to see the signup thread as early as possible to make such decisions

@Dragomir i have a suggestion tbh

how about we don't worry about those who say: I want to host so and so game

and instead the queue is there and only there for those who are absolutely ready to start right now

basically, the order at which you said you want to host shouldnt matter. what matters is who is ready and who is not ready. if multiple are ready at the same time, then they can decide via a queue. the rest who are not ready dont matter. they are not part of the equation

some people take months, some take weeks etc.. to get their game ready and polished. i feel like we are putting way more emphasis on who said that they want to host, instead of who is ready to host

For example Ratchet's game is a 20 players game, it could play along another game very easily.
its not just the numbers, the role complexity in ratchet's game is also going to be on the lower side, if not half vanilla. so not much micro managing needs to be done from players PoV if they r going to play that game and another game

the problem is ratchet himself as a host is probabaly playing in the other games, so he might not want to host and be in a game at the same time. i totally understand that

I like this idea, we can do that. Forces people to focus on getting their setup finished instead of trying to claim a spot.

Though, I don't think much would change in terms of current situation. Because Ratchet, me, Aries, Beky, and Flower are all ready. There's already an established queue of Ratchet, me, Aries, and Beky in that order. Flower's game is causing some issues here as she's trying to host her game before September.

With the current length of the queue, how is a host not going to have a game ready with more than a month's notice, lmao
