Zoro is like Oda’s attempt to have a Guts-like character, to make him look cooler he made him have 3 swords, but he is not a Guts as in he is not a main character like say Blackbeard is a main character, as he will play bigger role than Zoro. But people will always push Zoro to be something more. I think Oda likes Zoro but nowhere as much as fans
