and mushrooms are clearly NOT plants. They have a whole seperate life kingdom called Fungi.

with all that in mind, I’d say GB’s fruit is not necessarily being a plant himself but rather a fertilizer or a humidifier human who can accelerate the growth of plants and take on their properties too (photosynthesis = didnt eat for 3 years)
