Of course WE already know that shansk crew is the most balanced but during the raid Luffy had thousands of samurai + kid + law+ Marco+ the 9th.
So even with his powerful crew it must be complicated to easily beat kaido with is crew just in terms of number.

Fodder samurai army doesn't make a difference. Luffy and now Zoro are able to knock fodders easily.

Kid and Law only fit to take out Big Mom so we can ignore him.

Marco only fit to hold King and Queen to Zoro and Sanji and helping with plague. With proper matchups being set quickly we wouldn't need Marco for fight and without fodders plague wouldn't be an issue.

9 Scabbards only fit to take the traitor and get smashed by Kaido. Again not needed.

So in reality we only need Strawhats to take down Kaido's crew.

You could have an argument about X-Drake not chaging sides, Apoo too and Luffy + Zoro not learning the secret of his ability. But also is just chose a better time to take down Kaido and not when his whole army is together.

Unfortunatly it is hard to know when kaido go outside wano with just a part of his crew so maybe shanks was waiting for that but kaido prefer to play the King on his Island and drink

Yamato fought hybrid Kaido 1on1 for a long time, clash with him a great fight.
Scabbards got low diffed by Base Kaido, who negs Doflamingo.
Yamato would low diff Doflamingo, a hit from Thunder bague in hybrid would done the job.
