General & Others Oda admitting he turned Chopper into a merchandize mascot in his latest interview. At least he is honest.

Confirmed Goofy piece as well. "I just want the fights to be fun." What a joke :whitepress:

“I wish I could make the characters of my manga, ostensibly a story about personal freedom and expression in the face of a global autocracy, do Flintstones shit at all times, THAT is the true soul of animation.”
-Eiichiro Oda; quoted in 2022, incredibly enough

People gonna hate me for saying this, but at this point (especially after what Oda said about fights), will Oda really draw the Mihawk vs Zoro rematch? I fill like at this point that fight is ether gonna be silly as fuck (which people are not gonna be happy about, especially the Zoro guys) or it will turn into a gay porn where Zoro and Mihawk just complement each other until they just get naked and fuck each other.

OT: I still fully expect Mihawk and Zoro to clash for the title, but yeah, there’s no longer any chance it has the right tone or an appropriate amount of pathos…

I really have a hard time trying to imagine how that would realistically go down. Because Mihawk and Zoro's plotline is so isolated in the grand scheme of things, that it's kinda irrelevant. Like I don't wanna come off as a hater, but you know what I'm talking about, right? Mihawk is just out there, while the entire world is in turmoil, everybody is busy, there's a fight for the throne, the heat is going up. And Mihawk is somewhere growing cabbages and, running away from the Marines and fighting Don Krig level fodders. I sometimes even forget that he exists.

Mihawk is not plot relevant and Oda doesn't care that much about Zoro, so don't be surprised to see it offscreened, if the fight even happens to begin with.
