Out of all the possible ways Oda had to get rid of Kaido he didn’t choose the blade as teased the entire arc but rather choose Akainu's element out of nowhere without any type of build up, so yes, very telling.
It absolutely a million % was and you know it. Leakers said Kizaru was sweating buckets and was trembling in fear but what we actually got was a single sweat drop and him doing his usual trolling with Shanks pointing his sword at his face (taking his hands down anyways). Fujitora straight up wasn't bothered at all.
I haven't watched the movie but people like Vlad said even after Shanks threat Kizaru continues to do his thing anything.
