I fail to see how 90% of panel time dedicated to babysitting Momo and the bomb diffusion side quest would all of a sudden be seen in some "useful" panel time if Yamato joined the crew?

it wasnt but that time spent allowed us to get to know her ,
how she came to meet oden ,
also included a flashback with the samurais that helped her get through a short stint in prison. The way I see it, we get to see just enough of the character to fall in love with them before they join.

I was sure Yamato was joining, but i didn't want that to happen

so i guess i'm glad...

She fought Kaido till Luffy returned? And even all that would be fine, but her spamming over and over how she will sail with Luffy? Yeah that's just trolling.

The bait and switch was bad sure, but the handful of her panels intending to go out felt pretty half assed in comparison to how personal and emphatic some of the moments of the previous SH's were with Luffy especially.

She did fight Kaido I guess, but I'm just puzzled by the "400+ panel" argument where 90% of them are not going to magically get some extra validation just because she joins the crew, because most of them were restricted to other arc specific characters and side quests anyways.

she had no meaningful interactions with the crew in nearly 100 chapters yet apparently 400 panels were waisted on her being hinted at joining.

Could have at least stop her spamming at every opportunity that she will sail away. Oden always wanted to leave the country, same with Yamato but later. It's a waste of panel time and straight up trolling.

When she was introduced, especially so late. I thought he had special plans for her. Maybe with the oden log, something which she learned while talking with caged people/oden himself, something related to Kaido and her....etc....nothing happened though. She was a useless filler character...And could easily be removed from the story. No different than Carrot.
