There's no way to establish the power gap between Lucci and Kaku has changed after the time skip.

As far as we know last time there was a definitive power scale between the two Lucci was almost double the strength of Kaku.

Lucci was also hailed as a prodigy and a genius in fighting so he is likely to learn quicker than Kaku when it comes to abilities unless Kaku is rivalled with Luffy, Zoro and Coby in terms of growth.

I'd say it's a fair assumption to say Lucci would be still a sizeable amount stronger than Kaku until we're shown otherwise.

Thats an huge L take and makes 0 sense plot wise. Akainu is one of Luffys Number 1 foes, that he has to defeat later for revenge... so he obviously can't be weaker then Kaido - he's gotta be equal or stronger then Kaido.

It's always been like this - Luffy's enemies have progressively got stronger.

I'm still going for Sabo vs Akainu for an even fight, but Sabo loosing and Luffy saving him last second and beating the shit out of Akainu (no gear 5, just ACoC)

We saw the gap between pre TS Lucci and Kaku grow smaller as he mastered his DF during his battle with Zoro and adapted it to his swordsmanship. Now, Kaku had 2 years to master his DF to a higher level and he obtained awakening in a shorter amount of time than Lucci, the child prodigy. The gap between their strength is very small.

Kaku is a YC2
