General & Others The crew is not important anymore

Everything is just about luffy now
It always has been.

1st arc: "Luffy saves Koby"
2nd arc: "Luffy saves Zoro"
3rd arc: "Luffy saves the town"
4th arc: "Luffy saves Ussop's town"
5th arc: "Luffy saves Baratie"
6th arc: "Luffy saves Nami and co"

Every single arc of East Blue was Luffy-centric. The only reason it felt like "Luffy+crew" is because it was a recruitment arc. That is it. Every single story has phases. When the group of the MC is being formed the group will get more screentime. After the group has been established it's only natural for the screentime to get lower for the story to focus on the bigger world and other characters. Kingdom is the same way, it's not longer HSU centric, however, it still continues to be Shin-centric.

Oda couldn't have made it any more clear that this is not the story about "Strawhats", but story about "Monkey D. Luffy" when he sat the strawhats out for 2 of the biggest arcs of pre-TS Impel Down & Marineford arc. The relevance of the strawhat is because of being Luffy's group. Otherwise, this has and always been Luffy Piece, not SHP piece.

The reason it's called One Piece is because One Piece is the key thing of the story that everything circles around. Kingdom isn't about the "Hi Shin Unit", it's about "RiShin". Bleach isn't about "Gotei 13 + Ichigo", it's about Ichigo. Fairy Tail isn't about the Guild, it's about Natsu. Berserk isn't about Band of the Hawks or Guts' lil group, it's about Guts. So on and so forth.

Like bro, there is nothing Oda doing here regarding Luffy that he already wasn't pre-TS. People just have a weird nostalgia memory when it comes to pre-TS.

Pre-TS was HEAVILY Luffy-centric.

No you are wrong before time skip other strawhats had lots of time to shine but now it got seperated with side characters like Kinnemon, Law etc... Oda is making these side characters shine in the expense of strawhats and while he is at it making Luffy a deity like figure.

Again, you're using RECRUITMENT arcs, that were created to give Luffy a solid crew, as the equivalent of "this story was about the strawhat pirates now it's not". That's not how it works. That was a phase in the story, when the main character's group needed to be fleshed out, and now it has. The stawhats no longer need the same amount of time for their characters as their did pre-TS, why? Because they're developed for most of the part.

Go look at Kingdom right now, how much focus the MC's group got, in comparison to all the side characters like Riboku/Kanki/etc. Simply look at the amount of focus Shin has gotten compared to Karyo Ten/Kyoukai/etc. Or even better how much Ei Sei had gotten lately... somebody who used to essentially get co-MC type of shine.

Why are y'all obssessed with these strawhats needing to be everywhere???? It makes for a terrible story. Law has had what 2 arcs where he's been a big focus? Kid has had 1? Kinemon was hardly "shining" lol, do you realize how much Oda shat on the scabbards, in what you call "Shining"?????

"making luffy a deity like figure". He wasn't that when he saved Coby? He wasn't that when he saved Zoro from death? He wasn't that when he saved Baratie? He wasn't that when he saved Nami's hometown? He wasn't that when he saved Alabasta??? He wasn't that when he saved Skypea??

If anything One Piece focuses too got damn much on the strawhats and not enough on other characters in the world. Impel Down & Marineford was the funnest saga of pre-TS, and it had no Strawhat outside of Luffy.

Go get some water mate
You clearly are the obsessed one 🤣
So why you love luffy so much thought? Luffy just a boring typical MC, we love one piece because the unique of the strawhat crew because their friendship bonds just like a family
And thats nice
But now what we got ? They even barely talked to each other

The main character of a manga getting most of the focus, what a shocker.
I wonder if Naruto fans were complaining whenever Naruto got powerups.

And honestly, aside from his fight with Lucci, the current arc has focused on a bunch of characters other than Luffy so far lol
Luffy loses a lot of times as compared to other main characters. Cant see the reasoning behind the post by OP, except bias and baseless hate. You should be thankful Luffy isn't written to neg every villian and takes a lot of Ls. He hasn't been the focus for the last two chapters and the entire Egghead hasn't been focused on Luffy. You need to explain his fruit which Vegapank did but its more of Vegapank, Seraphims more than SHP including Luffy.

Blame the anime "cameraman" for making the female heroes look like they are just fanservice... I mean... you see a female character talking and the "cameraman" aims either on their chest or legs... Either he is really, really short or he needs to find a GF....

To be fair, until we learn what the one piece stands for, we can't really judge Oda for focusing on Luffy a bit more. There are good theories and even hints in the manga that point to Luffy actually being the One Piece which would actually make One Piece a story about Luffy.

When it comes to the crew, the only ones I am not happy with is Nami, Ussop and Sanji.

After their 2 year break, Nami's only power up was Zeus and the Clima tact that Ussop made for here. If you think about it, all her weapons are the technology she took from the sky-island. Other than her weather knowledge, she hasn't achieved anything important herself and she has been stagnant for a long time. An excuse would be that this fits Nami's character as a thief. She manipulated the scientists to get their technology, she stole Zeus and also stole the clima tact, but I still find that her character development is lacking.

Ussop... Other than his amazing shot in dressrosa, the brave warrior of the sea has been running away from the enemies again and again. Very disappointing... I still have hope for the Elbaf Arc being Ussop's development Arc.

Finally Sanji... I haven't seen a character being mistreated more than him.... The absolutely only reason I don't see Sanji the same as Zoro is because Oda has been making him look like a fool and a pervert almost all the time... I am fine with the occasional gag but he overdid it with Sanji to the point that it's not even funny anymore. Sanji has his glorious moments in each Arc, I am not gonna lie, but they are overshadowed by the constant harassment.

Other than those three I am happy with the rest!

Robin's development is insane! Learning Fishman Karate and awakening her fruit plus she is extremely important because she is the key to the ancient history. If the "Cameraman" remembers that he is not shooting porn from time to time I would have had 0 complains with Robin's treatment!

What can I say about Zoro... If the anime was called Zoro I would find it logical at this point! His feats since the beginning of One Piece are breathtaking. To tell you the truth, no matter how much I like Luffy, Zoro will always be a step above in terms of his development because you actually see him training none stop to become the strongest. I ve only seen Luffy train during the 2 year skip and in Wano.

Brook and Jimbe were amazing during the Cake island arc and they are still going strong and Chopper... Well he is the little kid but still developed a lot as a character the past few arcs.

In the end of the day, this is a series about Luffy achieving his dream and becoming the King of Pirates, I mean we ve been hearing this from episode 1, so it's only logical to focus a bit more on him, especially now that we learnt that he is connected to a very important figure of the past.

One thing is for sure though. Even after gear 5, Luffy made it clear that he wasn't worried about anything happening below (during his fight with Kaido) because he knew his crew were dealing with it. I don't think Luffy's crew will ever become less important than it is unless Luffy becomes so strong that can defeat an emperor's whole army on his own.

Everything is just about luffy now
Since luffy has nika, everyone in his crew just become minor character, robin and nami just will be fanservice tools, a sexdoll without a mind or purpose.Ussop doesnt have a power development until the end and sanji will be still a cringe AF
Even their conversation to each other is rare

Why it called one piece in the first place? Its more like naruto and just named this series "Luffy"
Or "luffy the explorer"

Waiting for 10+ years now for usop to die so that part is fine. Every chapter without his stupid nose is a win.

You are wrong since both in Alabasta and Skypia natives and other pirate crews was never involved, only Viper and Vivi were involved for plot reasons. But now in Wano we saw more scabbards then strawhats, in the first place strawhats should just defeat Kaido and leave so this ally thing just not a good thing in my opinion

Please don't insult Naruto by comparing it to One Piece lol. Even in a manga called Naruto, Naruto was not the main focus in every arc. Oda tries to make One Piece like Dragon Ball, not Naruto.

Jirarya had his own dedicated arc, Itachi own arc, Sasuke own arc, Shikamaru/Asuma own arc, we Naruto fanboys weren't complaining. :kata:
I always thought Naruto wasnt as good as One Piece but worse.

Then i read the manga and I was wrong af. Naruto is actually a good shounen-manga. Overall I enjoyed it.

And I say: Naruto > One Piece.
