I hate to admit this, but narratively speaking, Egghead is already better than Wano. I think Oda is in dire need of an editor that can keep him on track.

Nowadays, Oda has fanboys for editors. He needs an editor that can keep him in check. He went insano style with Wano and it ended up being a mess in terms of how much shit he put in there and how lackluster some of the payoffs ended up being.

It's because subpar egghead stuff is being padded with hype outside stuff. Wano desperately needed more outside stuff shown to make the reading worth it.
