Character Discussion Is Kids a realistic version of Luffy

Kids and Luffy have similar stubborn character. They charge toward anything without thinking or concerning the consequences even the crewmate warn them.
However, Kids don't have prestigious like Luffy who gifted from bloodline, god fruit, luck, teachers, and facing no consequences.

If Kids were treated like Luffy, Shank would bring him to the training class and give him ben beckman as a trainer.

Kid is exactly Luffy without any luck, not to say that Luffy doesn’t earn or deserve things but it just feels like w Kid it’s constant misfortune. He also lacks that ability to make powerful ppl want to help him.

They're not the same character no. Luffy has certain qualities that separate him from everyone else and is what is going to allow him to become PK in the end. Kidd fights for himself and goes around torturing others with no regard for other peoples well being. Luffy acknowledges that he needs others to help him achieve his dream as there are things he lacks.

That's why Kidd is on his own rushing into a fight he has no chance of winning. It's why he is in his current predicament.



God fruit wasn't exactly OP from the start. Nobody else managed to awaken the Gomu Gomu no Mi despite having the same god fruit as you put it. At the end of the day Luffy still had to show resilience and hard work to get to where he is now. Luffy didn't start out as a famous pirate. His lineage only got revealed during the war where as Luffy had already been making a name for himself as a supernova.

And yes Luffy is all those things because he is destined to become the PK. The story is about him. Saying it's unfair that Luffy has those advantages is silly.

yeah,Luffy is pirate Jesus and Kidd is psycho.Both are reckless.One has MC plot armor the other does not.

Kid has none of these things, so I wouldn’t say they’re the same. I think Luffy has different morals as well, because he doesn’t crucify people and laugh at their demise.

If you took the stubbornness part out, they would be completely different.

What happened to Kidd with Shanks is what should have happened to Luffy in chapter 900 at the end of WCI arc, if he hadn't main character privileges of course.
