Ideally,they would occupy Belarus and keep supporting Ukraine.It would also be one less front for the Ukranians to worry about.Since Russia can travel by that country to attack Kiev for example.Also,the world could do with one dictator less.I'm not a expert either,but this sounds like a good idea to my uneducated mind.I'm not into military stuff(despite liking guns) and geopolitics.
As I already specified. Ultimately, invading Belarus would push Putin to disguise his soldiers with Belarus uniforms and send them through the eastern Belarus frontier. Russia wouldn't be in direct and official conflict. And this would avoid a nuclear conflict. It was already done in prior conflicts, and is still done nowadays. This doesn't look like a good plan at all because NATO's intentions aren't to send their citizens on the battlefield.

The news are saying that,you moron.Also,yes there are lifes at risk,but Belarus is dangerous to both NATO and Ukraine.The nuclear missiles sound a like a serious enough threat to justify an invasion.
The closer the nukes are,the harder they are to defend against.Travel distance will influence how much time they have to respond and try to mitigate damage.

An invasion of Belarus all but assures a fucking escalation that might lead to a full out war with Russia, a nuclear armed power. They are open to use tactical nukes in the field of battle.
