To tell you the truth,the favelas are actually safer for people that live there than most of the other middle class neighboorhoods.The drugs dealers kill any robber,killer,rapist,pedophile that gets caught there.If you don't mess with the armed dudes,you should be pretty safe.The only danger are the gunfights that happen between rival gangs and the eventual police raid.
