Current Events Dragon will die in Egghead island arc and Sabo will become the Head of the Revolutionary Army.

Sabo is Luffy's brother and Oda planned his existence from the beginning. Oda made it very clear that Sabo would not become Luffy's subordinate when deciding between Luffy, Ace, and Sabo who they would be - all were to become captains of the pirate crew. However, Sabo, unlike Luffy, became the first lieutenant of the Revolutionary Dragon Army. It can now be said that Sabo is inferior to Luffy, if not in strength. then in rank.

After the events in Wano Country, Luffy became one of the four Yonko, and even though Sabo is called the Fire Emperor, that doesn't make Sabo a match for Luffy. However, Sabo is Luffy's brother, and Oda can't let Sabo be so inferior to his little brother.

That's why I'm convinced that when Luffy becomes the Pirate King, Sabo will become the Revolutionary Army Chief, and then the brothers will start the last war against the World Government together. This way, Sabo will not be inferior to Luffy as the head of the Revolutionary Army, and they will be equal allies.

What does this mean for the plot in the future? Dragon, Luffy's father, will be killed before Luffy becomes the Pirate King. Perhaps the death of the Dragon will occur in the Egghead island arc. Why?

Think about who Vegapunk is and why he began to study the ancient history of Ohara? Why was Vegapunk the one who turned Kuma, a member of the revolutionary army, into a living machine? Perhaps there is some Dragon's plan, when Kuma, already turned into a weapon, will be able to sneak into Marijoa without arousing suspicion, and carry out some kind of diversion, which will allow the Revolutionary Army to start an assault on Marijoa.

Therefore, without a doubt, Dragon cannot allow Vegapunk to be killed by the Marines. The battle for Egghead Island will be much larger than Marineford: 100 ships, along with the Admiral and Gorosey, are heading there, while in Marineford there were only 50 ships at the Watch. The appearance of Akainu himself is not excluded, in case if Dragon arrives on the Island. And although I am sure that Vegapunk will be saved, Dragon himself will die there.

But how can you believe that Oda can kill Dragon in this arc? Think Whitebeard was killed in one war arc even though he was introduced much earlier as the World's Strongest Man. Dragon will share the fate of Whitebeard, and the news that will shock the whole world will be the destruction of Dragon the Head of Revolutionary Army.

Also Imu as final viilain need great build up to surpass Akainu as main evil, and Dragon death is exactly what he need.

Also Dragon's death could mean another defeat for Luffy and RA, while WG will celebrate another victory

It would be epic shitwriting if a character the fans waiting to appear for literally 25 years to suddenly pop up and be killed 5 chapters later.
Naah, there will be full war, like with Whitebeard. He got same treatment, was introduced in chapter 150 or like that and killed in one arc.

I don’t think there’s any evidence of that.

We don’t even know if Ace was planned from the beginning, only that Oda knew he would die when Ace was introduced.
Actually you are wrong, case in interview or SBS Oda said that when he created Ace he already planned his death in Marinford. Also whole BB plot was there too: Ace wanted to hunt down this pirate, while BB planned to became Shichibukai and kill WB(they both was introduced in one arc).
Dadan was mentioned when Luffy got his second bounty, also S mark on Ace tatoo was there too. So I believe there was clear foreshadowing of Sabo

After Ace's introduction we saw his fight against BB, we saw him in ID and he was fleshed out in MF and Luffy's flashback.

Dragon is nowhere close to this. Idc if he dies, but if he dies now at EggHead is bad writing.
Actually not, we need to see that no one is able to defeate WG. When RA will be crushed, with all hopes...the only thing that will remain will be Luffy and his goal to find One Piece.

YOOOO Nice theory! This could be real war arc

Dragon has done nothing of note in the story to live up to his lore and portrayal to make his sacrifice meaniful, and doing this to just give Sabo a glow up just makes me question the purpose of Dragon's existence and why he was considered the most dangerous man in the world.

I can envision Luffy, Dragon and Garb joining in band and staring at Imu and Goresei standing from afar in the final war. Like the iconic scene in Enies Lobby where the Straw Hats looked at CP9 before Sogeking fired the WG flag.

Well, WB was the same. He was doing nothing, then come to war and die. Dragon created RA and then raised Sabo - that's peak of his role. Sabo already in chapters post Wano became more famous among people then Dragon. Dragon is famois only for WG his enemy, but he is not a figure that people love

Difference is that WB was deathly sick in the present at the time, therefore wasn't going to be active. Meanwhile Dragon's pretty healthy and (maybe?) in his prime as of now, and should be making moves to make his goal a reality, but funnily enough Luffy has done much more revolutionary work than the Revolutionaries, and if the news is to believed, then Sabo is now considered by many to be a more infamous figure than Dragon.

Also WB was simply a Yonko that rivaled Roger, and was claimed as the World's Strongest Man. Dragon is suppose to be the World's Worst Criminal, but there's nothing in his actions or his lore that makes Dragon special.

Truth is that Oda could show us desparate situation where no one is able to defeat WG, so Luffy with his finding One Piece goal, will be last hope. For this only he can kill Dragon in full war at Egghead island. Dragon is not needed at final war, case Sabo could take his place.

Why Sabo? He is Luffy's brother and always supported his young brother. Dragon from other hand even don't care to ask what Luffy is doing. He is worser then Yasopp as father. So why he has to support Luffy in final war? He had to act on his own
