It's crazy how people can look at Luffy defeating Kaido, becoming a Yonko like Shanks and Blackbeard, and then still think his story has to go the same way as those bums Kid and Law just because Oda forced a gag rivalry between them in Wano lol

If the vivre cards and novels are canon then it can be assumed he gets an “angry amp”. If Law avoids that ofc he will get stomped but like Kid? Nah

I think it says he's merciless when his friends got hurt. So he's simply more brutal when his associates are in danger---similar to Roger. Law may last longer than Kid against a milder Shanks, but he won't perform any better due to the sheer difference in skill.
