So you think that, Whitebeard, while mentioning all these legends in the past 22 years, then mentioned the duel between Shanks and Mihawk with the "even your fight....", didn't consider it a legendary duel? It's basic English that most people who read it will think that way, that Whitebeard also considers it a legendary fight.
Why does Shanks being young even matter, i mean Whitebeard of all people were shocked when Shanks came back from East Blue losing a hand. Would people have given the same reaction to King, Jack, Katakuri?
Someone on this post said whitebeard was excited by the duel. Im telling you and anyone else, that was never indicated.
Whitebeard is using legend as it is defined
"a traditional story sometimes popularly regarded as historical but unauthenticated."
Unauthenticated. Meaning "not proven" or "rumor". Whitebeard begins talking about those 22 years because shanks says he hasnt seen buggy since the execution (22 years ago). So whitebeard says those 22 years are basically legend (see above definition). Even shanks duel with mihawk is considered a legend to many, but to him, it is still new.
Hes clearly saying that, to others, everything in those 22 years was so long ago that they cant confirm it even happened. That includes the duels of mihawk and shanks. But for him, an old man, it was just yesterday. Nowhere in his dialogue did he say he was excited. Nowhere.
