They had an intricate racial caste system based off how white you were.
The conquistadors, Spanish conquerors, took the land from the natives and enslaved them. Once those slaves started to die out, they imported slaves from Africa. It’s why there are black people in Latin America.

A lot of white hispanics, especially in Texas, are very conservative.
Ted Cruz is a good example of this. But I’ve had white hispanics literally tell me that they wanted to shoot anyone who crossed the border illegally.
Let's remember that being "white" is a social construct as well. Most Latin American mestizos' racial composition is still spanish (around 50 to 60%), meaning they are mainly of european decent. These people are just not considered white due to their socio-economic background and slightly swarthy skin color.
Also, being a minority doesn’t mean you cannot align yourself with the far right.
There are countless examples of this. At the very least, it makes sense to me that a violent person would be drawn to a violent ideology, even if it ultimately fucks them in the end.
In fact the American far right is full of tokens who take advantage of their minority status in order to push white supremacy, often for clout and financial gain.
Just look at Candace Owens, going out with Kanye wearing a “White Lives Matter” shirt. You wouldn’t find a white person caught dead doing that unless they were open nazis. Yet Candace and Kanye were able to leverage their skin color to push white supremacy.
