OK and I can call myself a vegetarian but eat beef every day

It's called lying and deception
It's not.

I don't like this idea how people revolted (violently) and impose hardcore communism ideas only for it fail and then people twist it saying it wasn't communist at all

Communism/ Socialism need to be imposed hence it's dictatorship by nature.

You'd need to enforce all doctors/farmers to accept the same pay for example

Erdogan on his way to be reelected :hope:
Little bit late but never ever believe the first results Erdogan always makes his votes seems more at the beginning. Most probably it will go to the second round. but there is no way Erdogan wins now.
Also it seems that Erdogan takes the more than half of the parliament but of course we have to see the real results and that wont get certain until 6-7 hours. This election will go until the morning.

Most agencies are under his control, so don’t worry they’re fake and some shady things are happening in Turkey right now
They didn’t let a lot of people vote (in Diyarbakir for example). They’re still waiting outside
Kilicdaroglu is winning according to neutral sources
What are the names of the neutral sources you cite here ?

I heard they intentionally count the votes of the places who are pro-Erdogan.

This might go for a second round

I say %70 it goes to second round. But still according to CHP stats Kılıçdaroğlu is ahead right now.
They intentionally count the votes from the places pro Erdogan. This is true but they are also objecting to places where Kılıçdaroğlu is ahead. Lastly AA for the last decade are taking their results from AKP. I dont trust them.

ahhhh finally someone understood what communism/socialism is all about.

It just seems to me like the current economic system is rigged in the favor of a tiny minority of people who own everything.

Like for the past 5 months, I've been struggling trying to get a job I'm qualified for. And the process just seems so needlessly dehumanizing. Why is it that it is so hard for people, even those with an education, to get a good job? It seems to me like a man made problem. I feel like this is the consequence of capitalism.

It's not just me, I know many other engineers who've struggled to find work. It's not like we can't use skills we've spent years training for in order to participate in the economy, its just that the people who own everything wouldn't find it profitable.

However, if society just invested more in its workers, eventually it would improve productivity. Think of how many people could go on to do great things if only they were given the opportunity. But that's the problem, society doesn't invest in its workers, it invests in tards like Elon Musk.

And like conservatives will say "just work harder bro."

"just get a masters degree"
"just apply to 100000000 jobs"
"just suck cock for money"

and I'm like why tho? Why should life be this competitive. Everything in this country is a fucking competition. You need to compete to apply to college. You need to compete for rich donors to give you scholarships so you can attend college. You need to compete for the same fucking rich people to give you a job so you can earn enough to live. You don't like your job? You want to quit? You can't do that, because you don't even own the land you sleep on, you don't even have your own healthcare independent from your job, you still need to pay back the money the rich people lent you so you could go to college.

What the fuck are we doing? Why is everyone okay being puppets for the rich? Endlessly competing for just a decent life. Why should life be that difficult, I just want to live, not find the fucking One Piece.

I understand your sentiment.

But ultimately , we are not entitled to anything.

Those who force their way to get anything will get it .

The philosophy is life is indeed a competition,

Starting with the moment you compete with millions of sperms.

It doesn't matter what political system is there. There will always be untouchable allied who have significant leverage on how things are done

You'd need to enforce all doctors/farmers to accept the same pay for example
doctors➡needed only by sick people
farmers➡needed by anyone who wants to eat

I'd say farmers should get more money than doctors

I just watched one of the most islamophobic movies that perhaps has ever been created.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Kerala_Story

I'm indian american, occasionally go watch indian films in the theatres to enjoy my culture. Because its america, the website I use to buy tickets(fandango) doesn't show movie descriptions or trailers for some of these indian films. I saw the poster, thought it was some sort of slice of life film. So I decide to go see this movie.

I shit you not, this film was like the indian version of birth of a nation(famous american movie glorifying the KKK).

Its about these hindu girls who befriend a muslim woman in college and subsequently get caught up in a "love jihad". Apparently the muslim girl is a secret agent for ISIS who brainwashes the hindu girls into accepting islam and coordinates with other jihadists to impregnate these women, have them marry jihadists, and move to Syria to engage in jihad.

Throughout the entire film, islam is portrayed as this sinister cult of evil, brainwashed people. Its basically portrayed as a poison that is infecting society. Every single muslim character is a shitty person, and when the hindu girls become muslim, they become shitty people. Because somehow, according to the creators of this film muslim = bad.

This movie is also so fucking sexist. It has multiple graphic rape scenes, of course including muslim men raping hindu women. That's a thing this movie keeps going on and on about. Muslim men abusing women in the worst ways possible. It was just so fucking disgusting. Because yeah, this type of violence does happen. In fact I do believe that this movie was "based off a true story" involving real survivors. But this isn't how you are supposed to show sexual violence in media. Its just needlessly shocking and serves no other purpose than to use the suffering of these women to direct hatred towards muslims. I cannot imagine what it would be like to be a sexual/domestic abuse survivor watching that film.

To add to the sexism right, this film treats the hindu women who basically joined ISIS as children. Helpless victims who were preyed upon by evil muslim villains. And yeah, these women were victimized, but they also fucking joined ISIS. That was their choice, they chose to adhere to a violent ideology(ISIS) and they got screwed by their own shitty decisions.

Also think its important to note how the jihadists were portrayed in this film, because I feel like it parallels how they are portrayed in western media. They aren't portrayed as real people with hopes and dreams fighting for a cause they believe is just(however untrue that may be). They are portrayed as mindless violent barbarians who seek nothing more than to inflict harm on others. And like while obviously islamic fundamentalist groups are brutal and oppressive, they are people too and they have real issues that cause them to act out in violent ways. And by reducing them to animalistic killers, you end up ignoring the issues that caused their violence in the first place.

Those issues mainly stemming from western imperialism.

In any case, it alarms me that this movie did as well as it did in india and that it was shown in theatres in the USA. It alarms me that india is this deeply islamophobic that people could walk into a theatre and watch hate propaganda like this and think it is somehow good art.

I'm genuinely concerned about the state of islamophobia in india, because this honestly reminds me of some nazi/KKK type propaganda.

They even had a scene where a woman talked about the hindu to muslim conversion rates and outright stated that kerala is going to be a muslim state(which is somehow a bad thing) in a few years unless someone did something about it.

And that's classic nazi propaganda.

Am I the only one who thinks it‘s weird to change the race of a character?

For example, here’s Ariel from The Little Mermaid (2023):

And here’s Ariel from The Little Mermaid (1989):

I get that it’s for diversity, which is something that America loves doing for pretty much everything nowadays, but when it’s a character or person who wasn’t originally what they’re being portrayed as currently… it just doesn’t seem right?

(Oh, and I’m referring to marketed media. I’m fine with fan art depicting characters in these ways.)

When I think of a character from a movie or a show, I think of them to be kinda like a real, human being. After all, that‘s what they’re being portrayed as, right? Even if they’re 2D or 3D, they still share those human traits that we see in ourselves. They have their own identity.

A lot of oblivious people will look at Michael Jackson in his later years and think ”Oh, he’s white.” Imagine casting someone who isn’t black to portray a man who was actually black? Why would you go so far as to change one of the biggest things that makes a person who they are?

He talked about this in a similar fashion in an interview with Oprah Winfrey 30 years ago:

I don’t understand the concept of race changing in media, but I’d say that it’s first and foremost about money, and the discussion that goes along with these changes. Kinda like Chris Pratt’s casting as Mario in the Super Mario Bros. Movie, except that actually worked pretty well. :carrocorn:

Oh, and I’m not even gonna talk about Flounder here. He looks very cursed and… edible. :pepestrike:

Disney’s decisions and efforts are clearly going toward the wrong things. Why does everything in a live-action movie need to be so dang realistic to the point of being uncanny? What, are movies like Mary Poppins/Who Framed Roger Rabbit too difficult for multi-billion dollar corporations these days? Why couldn’t they make a semi-realistic design that actually works, like Sonic the Hedgehog from his movies?

These are my thoughts about race changing in media. I’m curious to know what you guys think about it.

…Imagine if they make Jinbe in the live-action One Piece look like a character from Avatar?(・□・;)
