Saudi Arabia is an oil state. And so far all their attempts to diversify their economy are extremely goofy. China’s economy is slowing down at an unprecedented rate due to countries like Vietnam and Malaysia presenting themselves as alternative manufacturing hubs for western companies. Despite the current debt ceiling crisis in the US, the dollar is still incredibly strong. Saudi Arabia is a regional power, but they are nowhere near to the economic power of countries like Germany or Japan.
