I didn’t say it, but I wanna emphasize again that requiring a woman to birth and raise a child that reminds her of the serious physical and emotional trauma she suffered is statistically likely to lead that child down a dangerous, crime- and drug-filled path, so I don’t think there’s any merit in limiting access to abortions in that kind of situation. A chance at a guaranteed difficult and painful life is not better than no life at all in my eyes.

Dude, kids in orphanages often go through one of two things - bouncing around foster homes, or never getting chosen for same; in both situations, they age out at 18 with absolutely no assistance whatsoever. What do you think happens when you put a legal teenager with no family or loved ones into the world, give them no real avenues through which he can improve his situation, and make them desperate for money and security?? I agree with the rapist paying his dues, but alimony is already difficult enough for the courts to enforce, and he should be dead or behind bars anyway. None of this puts the kid in a position to succeed, so again, that doesn’t sound better to me than just not being born and going through the hassle of a life like that.

I don’t know anybody who advocates for killing healthy babies who have been carried and planned for by expectant mothers, but if a man rapes a woman and gets her pregnant, she should be able to abort it rather than bring an unwanted child - one who almost certainly won’t receive love or affection from the mother OR father, one whose life will be difficult and wasted regardless of who raises them - into the world. That’s why it’s confusing that pro-lifers don’t seem to consider outside circumstances for the woman whose life is already in progress, they wanna save the potential existence at the expense of the confirmed one

I think even a harsh life is worth living.Orphanage and lack of parents is something that deeply affects one's emotional development,but it gets better eventually.We can't predict how people will react to hardships,some people that theoretically have everything and end up committing suicide.Just think of Japan.

Here’s the way I see it - assisted suicide should only be available under specific circumstances: At least two doctors (let’s not start in on all the shit we normally talk about physicians, solis) give a person a terminal diagnosis with six months or less to live; anyone who wants to follow through should have to undergo a full psychological evaluation to determine if they’re doing so with a clear understanding of what will happen; they should also have to get approval from at least three family members or legal representatives stating THEY understand and accept what their loved one wants to do. As someone who has dealt with ideations for a very long time, I agree that it should NOT be available to the general public…but if someone fits the description I laid out and wants to end their suffering on their own terms, I feel like they should have the option.

See, this is where people with this mindset start to lose me…so the rape baby should be able to live, the rapist should be able to live, but the rape victim - arguably the one most affected out of the three - should suffer all the consequences…the one life that is most altered by the act is the one conservatives are least interested in protecting, I really can’t grasp that lack of logic

I said it before,if anyone needs to be executed its the criminal father(rapist).The kid has a right to life,doesn't matter how it came to be.The woman should go through it and then decide to either raise the kid or leave it in an orphanage.It sounds fair in my mind,no?

So when a woman decides to willingly have sec and take that risk she should have to live with tha consequences that may come from it….but if she doesn’t consent to sex and has it forced upon her she should still have to live with tha consequences of it……

If you’re going to end your life without explaining the rationale behind it to the people you’re gonna leave behind, that’s monumentally horrible. The folks who wanna take this route should have to be held accountable by the ones they’re leaving behind, that’s all.

Like I said, I fit that profile, so I know what you mean…but if you wanna prevent that kind of stuff from happening, we need to increase mental health resources; brightening someone’s outlook is a lot harder when they know for a fact they’re going to die from an incurable disease, hence why I think the assisted version should be available only under the most objectively dire and unavoidable circumstances.
