Who knows. Is it even confirmed that he's going to use ACoC? I do think that Oda could have built up to this better. Having Koby show up and do things in Dressrossa would have eased some of his detractors into accepting the obvious trajectory of the character, but we know almost nothing about what he's done over the timeskip or how strong he's become.
Yes. And taking an L from Blackbeard and his Commanders isn't really that big of a deal. Anyone that thought Koby could fight Blackbeard on Amazon Lily would have rightly been called delusional. With or without his commanders.
He wasn't breaking the ropes to prove what to the Fishmen? Koby wasn't just running away. He was freeing slaves and drawing pirates away from the escapees.
And yet he couldn't dodge? No one's saying he had to beat the crap out of them. Just run. Instead he got captured. By people far weaker than Shiryu, even though he's almost certainly far stronger than Koby.
That wasn't a CoO feat. At least, that's not how I read it. If anything, it might have been an experience feat. And yes. It was Shiryu. Random fodder didn't land a hit on him. They distracted him while Shiryu went in to attack.
