guys literally watched luffy claw his way through three powerups in a month just to get to where kaido is from defeating katakuri , a right arm in the previous arc and you think coby who is significantly weaker than that , should be ready to take down aokiji in 1v1 fight in a few weeks .

I think it means that they are much stronger than him, he owes them his life and that he found difficult believing to become as strong as them starting as weak as he was.

But aside from that, he is no swordsman and certainly no pirate, so he doesn't have any dreams that start with being a swordsman or a pirate.

He even swore to fight the PK as an Admiral, which Luffy said will be necessary if he wants to fight him.

Like you said :

first Oda can do anything to suit his plot. He can make Coby relevant power level wise in no time. Oda loves to parallel things : Garp helped Roger against Xebec, you can bet Coby will help Luffy against BB. So at the very least Oda will make Coby strong enough to be a relevant player during the Laugh Tale thing.

secondly Coby in few years can become the guy we are expecting him to be.

Koby & Bellamy are two characters who Luffy almost never fails to fodderize, so this sudden wank that he should match Pirate King Luffy is just dumb.

Koby won’t always be fodder to luffy

Koby has tons and tons of room to grow stronger and isn’t anywhere near his prime. Luffy is currently emperor level and in comparison is a lot closer to his peak/prime strength. Given time Koby will eventually significantly decrease the gap. You can say the same for characters like momo, law, or even smoker with them eventually making the humongous gap at the very least a bit smaller

Koby has tons and tons of room to grow stronger and isn’t anywhere near his prime. Luffy is currently emperor level and in comparison is a lot closer to his peak/prime strength. Given time Koby will eventually significantly decrease the gap. You can say the same for characters like momo, law, or even smoker with them eventually making the humongous gap at the very least a bit smaller

It’s a shonen so I do think Zoro will end up being the strongest swordsman ever.

Just Roger isn’t part of that dream at all. Same as current Shanks

but my point is even if he does say a decade later , as strong as garp
what type of ceiling are you setting for the other two
final villains dont seem to be blackbeard or even the marines anymore.
