If Oda wants to make 2 characters struggle during a fight, he will, regardless of the powerlevel that powerscalers have set.

It doesn't change anything to the respective power of the characters. Zoro is still Zoro, Luffy is still Luffy, Kizaru is still Kizaru.

I’d say Oda doesn’t always care that much about the boost « transformations » give. It feels pretty random sometimes
Like when we had Base Luffy with use of G2/G3
matching drunk Kaido so I thought G4 would fold him since it supposedly a huge boost (based on Dresseosa and WCI) but nah.

So yeah Oda may have Zoro struggling against base Lucci just to show him beat his awakened version a few chapters later

Sanji solo'd a Seraphim while the others had to 2v1 theirs.

We already got our W for the arc. I'm now looking forward for the next arc.
