Neither. Luffy just perplexed on why his Gear 4 didn't even do little damage against Kaido. Until then his Gear fourth physically overpowered every opponent and couldn't do ounce of damage against Kaido. You will definitely be perplexed or even hit rock bottom if your trump card which you took pride became useless all of a sudden.

Im honestly expecting Luffy to be that strong already..he shouldn't have any problems with the f6..he's supposed to at least give kaido somewhat a fight

If I have to be completely honest with you, future sight is too f'ing overrated.
Luffy only needed Snakeman to weaken the capabilities of Katakuri's Future Sight.
