yeah thats the weirdest part to me. they didnt even change some of that stuff for budget reasons or whatever, a lot of it was just "we are choosing to do this different, and also worse" like with Chou Chou and the Orange Town people's brave stands against Buggy being replaced by a silly clown show. Usopp in Syrup Village not getting his moment to go "no, don't tell the town what happened, it's better if they don't believe pirates ever came and still think im a liar. this way they don't have to worry and can keep living happy lives", it makes him lose pretty much all his character development. Usopp is barely part of the LA and has no important moments.
and Arlong Park is pretty much ruined up and down the whole arc. Every single major scene is different and worse from "help me" to the smashing up of the map room.
how does arlong even punch Luffy and hurt him rofl. Arlong haki? He doesn't use his nose, teeth, or water a single time in the fight scenes, he just punches luffy and it magically works
