And? Luffy was tired upon using gear 5 on LUCCI. Which means in luffys mind he found it necessary to use it lol. And then oda had Luffy spam gear 4 and even compared luffys king Kong gun with regular hybrid luccis rokougun when fighting s-bear. It's clear what oda is doing lol

Zoro KOing Lucci with Haoshoku coating isn't actually bad/is the bare minimum for Lucci to be a respectable opponent.

Only problem with it is that Lucci is in Hybrid which doesn't make sense.

Haoshoku coating isn't something Zoro will use until Lucci is in Awakening if he uses it at all.

Even Luffy didn't use Haoshoku coating off the bat against Borsalino. He went Gear 5 first.

And Luffy knew what a danger Lucci was to his friends (parallel to Enies Lobby where he said he wont take his eyes off of him) and saw himself needed to go Gear 5 to fight Awakened Lucci - and still wasnt able to protect Sentomaru whom Lucci made look like fodder. I could be there instead of Sentomaru and no one would notice a difference, thats how bad Lucci made him look.
